🚌 Big News for South Alabama Families!
We're excited to announce that beginning this fall, AIDB is launching a weekly Mobile bus route!

Every Friday and Sunday, our new route will connect AIDB with communities across South Alabama, with stops from Evergreen to Mobile. The bus will depart AIDB on Fridays and return on Sundays, making it easier than ever for students and families to access our campuses. This new route helps bring the life-changing opportunities at Alabama School for the Blind, Alabama School for the Deaf, and Helen Keller School of Alabama within reach for even more families. By reducing travel barriers, we're making it easier for students to experience the exceptional education, support, and opportunities AIDB has to offer.

We can't wait to welcome more students aboard this fall! 💙

It's time for the 17th Annual Christmas in July! Come out to Pier 59 on Logan Martin Lake on July 11 and support our K–12 students, so they may experience the joy of Christmas. There is something for everyone, so come on out, have some fun with us, and support our students at the same time!

The AIDB Foundation was pleased to host the Opening of the Joe Tom Armbrester Greenhouse today, June 25, 2026. The Foundation truly does support the mission of AIDB and wants to provide as many opportunities to the students and constituents as possible. The JTA Greenhouse is just another great example of the good work of the Foundation.

AIDB Baseball Night at Choccolocco Park



Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind (AIDB) sponsored an evening of baseball at Choccolocco Park for students, staff, alumni, friends and the entire AIDB community. Over 450+ fans showed up to enjoy the Choccolocco Monsters take on the Atlanta Astros in a double-header on Wednesday, June 10th at 5:00 pm. Units and departments across all of AIDB set up booths and tables to share the AIDB story to the community. “It was great to see all of AIDB come together for such a fun night of fun and sharing of the AIDB story, “ said Becky Watson, Chief Institutional Advancement Officer for AIDB.

Clara Scelsi, a rising 11th grader at the Alabama School for the Blind, sang the National Anthem while David Vaden, an alumnus of the Alabama School for the Deaf, performed it in American Sign Language. Both did a beautiful job. Annaya Fanning, a student from the Alabama School for the Deaf (ASD) STEM Academy threw out the first pitch to get the game started. Several other students from the ASD STEM Academy led the crowd in “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” during the 7th inning stretch. A good time was had by all!
