The therapy tool my clients LOOOVE is my mouth model- first- they love to manipulate it-Open/close, etc!!
When I demonstrate different sounds with my play doh tongue and ask them to do the same, they have no idea they are working on learning speech sound production bc they feel like little scientists!

What if the biggest difference in a child’s progress happened before therapy even began?

Yesterday, I had the privilege of educating local healthcare providers at Capital Pediatrics on the early signs of Childhood Apraxia of Speech. When we recognize the right children sooner, we can get them the right treatment sooner.
❤️ Every child deserves that opportunity.

Another app alert!! I ONLY use apps in therapy when I have CONTROL of the screen- kids stay engaged this way and are not STARING at a screen with zero connection.

Turns out DTTC isn’t just for our clients. 😂

We worked through the hierarchy—spontaneous production, simultaneous production, direct imitation, delayed imitation, and slowed rate—and after all that… the mispronunciation somehow became contagious. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣

Safe to say generalization still needs a little work. 😉
