Did you know?
Many patients are surprised to learn that Medicare only covers one chiropractic service—spinal manipulation. Medicare generally does not cover chiropractic examinations, office visits, many therapies, or diagnostic imaging provided by chiropractors, often leaving seniors with unexpected out-of-pocket costs or requiring referrals for services their chiropractor is trained and licensed to provide.
The Chiropractic Medicare Coverage Modernization Act (S. 106 / H.R. 539) aims to modernize Medicare by allowing coverage of Medicare-covered physician services provided by chiropractors within their state scope of practice.
If you believe Medicare beneficiaries should have greater access to conservative, non-drug chiropractic care, we encourage you to make your voice heard by contacting your U.S. Senators and Representative.
