One question I get fairly often is:
"What is the difference between an attunement and a placement?"
If you've taken traditional Usui Reiki, you're probably familiar with attunements. In Holy Fire® Reiki, we use placements instead.
One of the biggest differences is the role of the teacher.
With a traditional attunement, the Reiki Master is actively performing the process. They may move around the student, draw symbols, and follow a specific attunement procedure.
With a Holy Fire® Placement, there is no physical interaction between the teacher and the student. The teacher doesn't need to stand behind you, stand in front of you, touch you, or draw symbols. Instead, the teacher simply guides a short experience that helps you enter a receptive state and then allows the Holy Fire® energy to take over.
In fact, Holy Fire® teaches that the less the teacher is involved, the more powerful and effective the experience becomes.
What I love most about Placements is that they are individually guided. Even when several students receive a Placement at the same time, each person is having their own unique experience. The Holy Fire® energy works with what that student needs in that moment rather than giving everyone the exact same experience.
This is also why Holy Fire® Placements can be received just as effectively online as they can in person. The teacher is holding space and facilitating the experience, but the energy itself is doing the work.
Different method. Different experience.
✨ Two Paths. One Reiki Energy. ✨
Have you experienced both? I'd love to hear what differences you noticed.
