🏥 Celebrating National Health Center Week!

Health centers are more than places to receive medical care. They are trusted community partners that make healthier lives possible by expanding access to preventive care, primary care, behavioral health services, dental care, health education, and other essential resources.

Across the country, health centers help remove barriers that can prevent individuals and families from receiving the care they need. They meet patients where they are, strengthen underserved communities, and help ensure that quality health care remains within reach.

Here in Tallahassee, Care Point Health & Wellness Center demonstrates the powerful impact health centers can have by providing compassionate, community-centered care to those who need it most.

During National Health Center Week, August 2–8, we celebrate not only our amazing team, but all of the dedicated professionals, patients, partners, and advocates across our country who help health centers remain a vital part of our nation’s health care system.

Access to prescription medications shouldn't depend on where you live.

As pharmacy closures continue to impact communities across the country, "pharmacy deserts" are becoming an increasing concern; particularly in neighborhoods that already experience significant health disparities. Here in Tallahassee's Southside, access to affordable medications is essential to keeping our community healthy.

We're proud to stand alongside our community partners, including Bond Community Health Center and Neighborhood Medical Center, as organizations helping ensure residents continue to have access to pharmacy services close to home.

At Care Point Health & Wellness Center, our pharmacy is open to the public, not just our patients, and provides convenient access to prescriptions, pharmacist consultation, immunizations, and medication support. Through our growing partnership with Florida A&M University's College of Pharmacy, we're also looking to help educate and prepare the next generation of pharmacists who will continue serving communities like ours.

Access to medications is healthcare. Together, we're committed to ensuring our Southside community has the resources it deserves.

We had the absolute joy of welcoming 12 incredible kids to spend the day with us for Take Your Child to Work Day, and what a day it was!
From the moment they arrived, our future leaders jumped right in with a meet & greet and orientation, getting a glimpse into the important work their parents (and our team!) do every day. They explored our space through a scavenger hunt, toured our facilities, and learned firsthand how we care for our community.
Creativity was in full swing as they worked on a special art project; and we’re excited to share that their masterpieces will be featured as centerpiece art for our sponsor tables at our signature fundraising event, Artopia 2026 this June! 🎨
We also took time to celebrate our amazing Spring Social Work interns over a pizza lunch, sending them off with appreciation for the impact they’ve made.
The day continued with a Community Kindness Challenge, where our young participants showed us all how small acts can make a big difference, and wrapped up with time spent alongside their parent or “hero,” reflecting on a day full of learning, connection, and purpose.
Days like today remind us that the future is bright, compassionate, and full of possibility. 💫
