📣 PSA from your friendly community midwife 📣

I’m already dreaming about my summer 2027 break 🌴☀️ and wanted to give you all a heads-up. If you’d like me to be your midwife, please keep this in mind:

📅 I’ll be on vacation mid June - mid August. That means if you get pregnant between September 22nd and November 22nd, 2026, your due date will likely land right in the middle of my beach time. 🏖️

Of course, babies come when they come (they don’t usually check my calendar first 😉). But if you want me at your birth, plan accordingly! 🤪

Hi, I'm Lindley Fredrickson! A Tallahassee native, I've proudly called this community home my entire life. My husband and I are blessed with three wonderful children, ages 14 to 5, whom we homeschool.

For the past 17 years, I've had the privilege of serving as a nurse, with a special passion for pregnancy, birth, and supporting families through the journey into parenthood. I believe every family deserves compassionate, knowledgeable care during one of life's most meaningful seasons.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, visiting Florida's beautiful springs, staying active through sports, and making the most of the outdoors.

One of the sweetest parts of being a midwife is watching the babies you once caught grow up.

I had the joy of catching up with a sweet mama and her two beautiful daughters yesterday. This little one was born safely at home in January. Moments like this remind me that midwifery is so much more than attending births. It is becoming a small part of a family’s story and carrying those memories in your heart forever.

Today, I pause and reflect...

25 years in birth work. 18 years at the bedside as a labor & delivery nurse. Now 8 years walking alongside families as a midwife here in North Florida.

And what I know for sure is this...
midwifery is not a job. It’s a calling.
It’s being invited into some of the most sacred, vulnerable, and transformative moments of a woman’s life. It’s holding space when things are quiet… and when they’re anything but. It’s trusting the process, honoring the body, and protecting the dignity of every mother and baby.

This year’s theme, “One Million More Midwives,” is a reminder that this work matters!

Because when midwives are supported, women are safer, families are stronger, and communities thrive.

I am honored to do this work.
I am grateful for every family who has trusted me. And I stand in awe of midwives everywhere (past, present, and rising).

To every incredible doula I’ve had the honor of working alongside... thank you. Truly. You are steady hands, calm voices, and fierce advocates in some of life’s most vulnerable, powerful moments. You don’t just “support” birth… you transform it.
