From the Staff of Jackson Funeral Home
To the family of Mr. Reginald Sekua Gilmore, affectionately known as “Gilmo” and “Reggie,” the staff of Jackson Funeral Home extends our deepest love, heartfelt sympathy, and sincere gratitude.
Thank you for entrusting us with the sacred responsibility of caring for your beloved Reggie and assisting your family during this difficult time. It has been our honor to serve a family whose love for one another is so clearly reflected in the beautiful life and lasting legacy he leaves behind.
Reggie’s life was filled with family, laughter, music, dancing, hunting, fishing, unforgettable adventures, and joyful mischief. He possessed a special gift for making people laugh and bringing happiness into every room he entered. Whether he was remembered as the family jokester, the dancer, the fisherman, the hunter, the brother, the uncle, or the friend, his presence made life brighter for those around him.
Above all, Reggie’s greatest pride was his son, Reginald Sekua Gilmore Jr. He embraced fatherhood wholeheartedly and found tremendous joy in watching his son grow, graduate with honors, and begin his career. The love he had for his “Junior” was immeasurable, and that love will remain an everlasting part of his legacy.
Although words cannot remove the sorrow of this moment, we pray that the precious memories you shared will comfort your hearts in the days ahead. May you hear Reggie’s laughter in the stories you tell, feel his love whenever the family gathers, and recognize his spirit in every song that makes you want to dance.
On behalf of the entire staff of Jackson Funeral Home, thank you for allowing us to walk beside you during this sacred season. May God surround your family with His peace, strengthen you with His grace, and comfort you with the assurance that a life so deeply loved can never be forgotten.
A Poem in Loving Memory
“The Song He Left Behind”
He came into this world with laughter,
With joy that could brighten a room;
He danced through the days with a spirit
That chased away sadness and gloom.
He loved the stillness of fishing,
The freedom of hunting outdoors;
He treasured the bonds of his family
And the memories that forever endure.
He was brother, uncle, and loved one,
A jokester and faithful friend;
The laughter he gave was a blessing
That even death cannot end.
His greatest pride was his Junior,
The son he so lovingly raised;
He watched him succeed with a grateful heart,
And his spirit was filled with praise.
So when music begins softly playing,
And a familiar rhythm comes through,
Remember that Reggie is dancing—
Still smiling and laughing with you.
His earthly journey is over,
But his melody has not gone;
For love keeps the music playing,
And memories carry the song.
Rest peacefully, dear Reggie,
Your work on this earth is through;
You will live in the hearts of your family—
Forever remembered, forever loved,
And forever cherished too.
With heartfelt sympathy, love, and gratitude,
The Staff of Jackson Funeral Home
