A lot of times people don't even know where to begin when someone passes. Here is a short list to help guide you. We are available by phone 24/7/365 for any questions.

1. If the death happens at home
If it was unexpected: Call 911 immediately.
If it was expected and the person was under hospice care: Call the hospice nurse or the number provided by the hospice organization. They will guide you on the next steps.
Do not move the person until you have received instructions from the appropriate medical professional or authorities.

2. Contact a funeral home or cremation provider
Once you are authorized to do so, contact a funeral home or cremation provider. They can arrange transportation and help you understand your options.

3. Notify close family members

You don't have to make every call yourself. Ask a trusted family member or friend to help notify others and handle immediate practical tasks.

Will or estate documents

Danny Paul Best of Tampa, Florida passed away unexpectedly July 23, 2026. Danny was a Florida Native. He loved fishing, hunting, and most of all, his family. Danny is survived by his mom Frances Best; his daughter Tabitha Best; his four sisters, Lisa, Lori, Kim, Katie; his three nieces, Jessica, Alyssa, Angelina; and one nephew, Shelton.
