🩷When Brian and I were up in Indy for Carb Day and the Indy 500, we came upon “Helen’s Pink Lemonade Stand.” This friendly, adorable young kiddo was handing out lemonade. We took a glass and were starting to learn who Helen was when a young man introduced himself to us as “Dan Born.” As we chatted with him, we learned he was Helen’s dad and he introduced us to his son, George (who handed us our lemonade earlier) and his wife, Stephanie. He shared their family’s story of Helen and her medical challenges that took several years to accurately diagnose. The diagnosis of CLN2 Batten Disease. Explained to us as “ALS in children.” I’m posting the Born’s family story here and sharing their experience and foundation for anyone that feels led to learn more and possibly support their mission. May God continue to support and bless the Born family and others dealing with this tragic diagnosis.💝

Today is National Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Day!

SLPs are vital in rehabilitating and educating our communities in daily communication and skills for daily living such as talking, eating and swallowing.

I am blessed to practice SLP and provide others with hope and encouragement to improve so many areas of daily functioning that we often take for granted until we’re faced with difficulties. This may include difficulties with speaking, articulating, voicing, breathing, remembering, swallowing, problem solving, and many other areas caused by stroke, brain injury, developmental delay, injury, etc.

If you’re in need of SLP services, we’re here to help you! And if we are not the best option for your specific needs, we work to find you the best therapy options! SLPs are a community of helpers, givers, cheerleaders and networkers to help all people!
