The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic in Tampa was proud to support the 81st Readiness Division during their recent training event. Our team had the opportunity to share practical, evidence‑based strategies for strengthening mental health, building resilience, and supporting service members and families through the unique challenges of military life.

For seven years, our clinic has been part of a collaborative, ever‑evolving network committed to expanding access to high‑quality care for veterans, service members, and their loved ones. Partnering with the 81st Readiness Division reflects that commitment in action—meeting people where they are, fostering readiness through mental wellness, and ensuring that those who serve have the support they deserve.

Grateful for the partnership, the engagement, and the shared dedication to strengthening our military community. Looking forward to continuing this important work together.

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the courage, sacrifice, and service that followed.

For many of the veterans, service members, and military families served by Cohen Clinics, and for those on our teams, this day is deeply personal. As we reflect on its lasting impact 25 years later, we remain committed to ensuring military and veteran families can access high-quality mental health care and support when they need it.

Sometimes the hardest conversation is the one that matters the most. Veteran su***de remains a critical public health issue, with the veteran su***de rate 60% higher than the national average. Fi****ms also remain the most common method of su***de among veterans.

This Su***de Prevention Month, Cohen Veterans Network encourages everyone to and start a conversation that can be lifesaving. Whether it's checking in with a loved one, asking about secure firearm storage, or reaching out if you need help, Ask Anyway reminds us that we don't have to have all the answers.

Sometimes, just showing up and asking the question can be an important first step toward safety, connection, and support.

The Cohen Clinic at Aspire is here for veterans, service members, and military families in the Tampa Bay community. If you or someone you care about could use mental health support, reach out to our team.

Did your recently PCS this year? Have a conversation with your child about what they’re interested in pursuing this year or what their hopes are for this new place.

For military children who did not have a choice in their recent move, following their lead can help them regain a sense of control. 💙

And remember, your family doesn’t have to navigate a PCS or transition alone. If your child or military family could use additional support while adjusting to a new community, the Cohen Clinic at Aspire is here to help.

No one knows Murphy’s Law better than a military family… so remember that not all moments go smoothly, and that’s okay! 💙

Even when things don’t go according to plan, remind your child (and yourself!) that this was an experiment. Take note of what you learned and try something new next time.

For example, if your child was disappointed that they didn’t have anyone to sit with at lunch, brainstorm what they could try tomorrow—like inviting another classmate who is sitting alone to join them.

And remember, your family doesn’t have to navigate the challenges of a new school year alone. If your child or military family could use additional support, the Cohen Clinic at Aspire is here to help.
