🧠Sept 21 is World Alzheimer’s Day.
As women, we may joke about forgetting why we walked into a room or losing our keys. But when does forgetfulness become something worth paying attention to?
Alzheimer’s can affect people younger than 65 too, and some early changes can be easy to brush off as stress, menopause, or simply getting older.
Some warning signs to watch for include:
🧠 Forgetting recently learned information or asking the same questions repeatedly
📋 Having unusual difficulty planning, organizing, or solving problems
🗺️ Getting confused about familiar places or losing track of time
💬 Struggling to find familiar words or follow a conversation
🔑 Misplacing things and being unable to retrace your steps
😕 Changes in judgment, mood, personality, or social behavior
The occasional forgotten name or misplaced phone happens to all of us. What matters is when changes become noticeable, persistent, or begin interfering with everyday life.
Your brain deserves just as much attention as the rest of your body. If you notice concerning changes in yourself or someone you love, talk with your healthcare provider rather than simply brushing them off. Early evaluation can help identify what may be causing the changes and guide next steps. 💜
