Charles Vernon Nail

Charles Vernon Nail, age 79, of Tampa, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, August 9, 2026.

Charles was born on March 13, 1947, in Plant City, Florida, to Everett Vernon and Gladys Mae (Stegall) Nail. He was one of seven children and, while a senior in high school, was unexpectedly drafted into the Vietnam War. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970.

Following his military service, Charles continued his education in the field of electronics, earning his Associate’s Degree. Although he enjoyed working in electronics, he eventually found his calling in construction, where he put his talents to work in the trades for various companies before retiring.

Charles was a man who could fix just about anything. His absolute favorite pastime was woodworking, and his family will fondly remember his endless ability to take things apart, put them back together, and, as they would jokingly say, “fix sh*t.” His hands were rarely still, and he found great satisfaction in creating, repairing, and working with his hands.

On February 15, 1985, Charles married Vertie M. Salgado in Tampa, Florida. Together they shared more than 41 years of marriage, and she survives him.

In addition to his wife, Vertie M. Nail of Tampa, Charles is survived by his three sons, Matthew (Marlene) Nail of Tampa, Charles J. “C.J.” Nail of Tampa, and Alexander (Shaun) Nail of Virginia; three grandchildren, Colbyn, Maxwell, and Seraphina; and one sister, Brenda Tatum of Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings, Curtis Nail, Barbara Lowrey, Dennis Nail, Becky Jobes, and Quentin Nail.

Charles will be laid to rest on Monday, August 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida, where full military rites will be rendered.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Florida Mortuary Funeral and Cremation Service, Tampa, Florida.

Georgia Ann Lefthand

In Loving Memory of Georgia Lefthand

April 23, 1963 – July 27, 2026

With profound sadness and immense love, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Nana, sister, aunt, and friend, Georgia Lefthand, who entered into eternal rest on July 27, 2026, at the age of 63.

Born on April 23, 1963, in Detroit, Michigan, Georgia was raised in a large and loving family surrounded by many brothers and sisters. Among those who will forever cherish her memory are her beloved sisters, Cindy and Vicki, along with her many other siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Georgia later made her home in Tampa, Florida, where she met the love of her life, Dan Cunningham, in historic Ybor City. Together they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family, raising their two children, John Lefthand and Audrey Cunningham. Dan preceded Georgia in death, and later their beloved son, John Lefthand, passed away at the age of 33. Georgia also endured the heartbreaking loss of her precious granddaughter, Olivia Higuera Cunningham. Though these losses weighed heavily on her heart, her unwavering faith in God carried her through life’s greatest trials.

Georgia was a devoted mother and Nana whose greatest joy came from caring for others. She owned and operated a licensed daycare from her home, lovingly caring for countless children and treating each one as if they were her own. She also worked other jobs throughout her life, always demonstrating incredible strength, determination, and an unmatched work ethic. No matter how hard she worked, she always found time to help someone in need.

She is lovingly survived by her devoted daughter, Audrey Cunningham; her cherished grandchildren, Ashtyn Miller, Avree Miller, Adalaya Jasak, Buddy, and Kyle; her beloved sisters, Cindy and Vicki; her many brothers and sisters; and a large extended family of relatives and dear friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Above all else, Georgia was a woman of deep and unwavering faith. She loved God with all her heart and lived her life according to His teachings. She believed in doing what was right, showing kindness to everyone, being honest, and loving others without condition. She had the rare gift of giving freely, never expecting anything in return. She truly would give the shirt off her back to help anyone in need.

To know Georgia was to experience genuine love, compassion, and acceptance. She had the kindest heart, the sweetest smile, and the most beautiful soul. Her warmth made everyone feel welcome, valued, and loved. Her legacy is one of generosity, faith, selflessness, and unconditional love.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Georgia has been reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Dan Cunningham; her beloved son, John Lefthand; and her precious granddaughter, Olivia Higuera Cunningham. We take peace in knowing she now rests in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, whom she faithfully served throughout her life.

Georgia’s love will continue to live on through her family, through every life she touched, and through every act of kindness inspired by her example. She will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and never forgotten.

“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:23

Bruce Bennett Vaughn II

Bruce Bennett Vaughn II, 45, of Wesley Chapel, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, July 9, 2026, with his loving wife courageously by his side.

Born on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1980, Bruce was the son of Bruce B. Vaughn and Linda (Griffith) Vaughn.

Bruce was truly a master of many trades. Throughout his career, he worked in commercial painting inside industrial tanks, built horse farms, and most recently was employed by K & R Concrete Pumping. He also had the unique opportunity to train several Thoroughbred horses whose bloodlines traced directly to descendants of the legendary racehorse Secretariat.

Following the passing of his father, Bruce fulfilled one of his father's lifelong dreams by building a barn on his parents' property. It was a labor of love and a lasting tribute to the man who inspired him.

Bruce was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. When he wasn't working, he loved spending time outdoors boating, fishing, hunting, and enjoying nature. Above all else, Bruce cherished the time he spent with his family. Some of his happiest moments were riding mini bikes and trail riding with his children, creating memories they will carry with them forever.

Bruce leaves behind his beloved wife, April Vaughn of Wesley Chapel; his five children, Alexander (Alyssa) of New Jersey, Nevaeh, Isabella, Jasmine, and William, all of Wesley Chapel; his mother, Linda Vaughn of Wesley Chapel; his sister, Brandy Lambert of Alabama; his niece, Taylor Lambert; and his cherished canine companions, Alley, Baby, and Destiny.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce B. Vaughn, and his beloved dogs, Anegus and Minnie.

Honoring Bruce's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date as plans are finalized.

Poem

Our heavenly father knows what’s best for us, so why should we complain, We always want the sunshine, but He knows there must be rain.

Our family chain may seem broken and nothing seems the same; but as God call us home, the chain will link again. So don’t remember me with sadness, Don’t remember me with tears. Remember me with love and all the laughter we’ve shared throughout the years.

Let gratitude fill your heart. Thankful for the time we had, Gone...yet not apart

Military Poem

A life of duty, proudly praised. From distant shores to skies blue, He served this country and our family both brave and true. Though the fight is over, pain has passed, his legacy of love will last. So rest in peace, your mission through, the heavens proudly welcome you.

Acknowledgement

On behalf of the family of Ernest Canady, we extend to each of you our heartfelt gratitude for your prayers, love, and support during the passing of our precious loved one. May God bless each of you. - The Family
