Can you really learn Pilates online?
Kendall started training with me in New York City in 2013 after winning a Pilates session at a charity auction. Years later, life and eventually a pandemic, put thousands of miles between us.
So we adapted.
A mat, a Magic Circle, a few hand weights, and the same commitment to showing up. Our sessions continued virtually, and they still do today, now from her fully equipped studio space.
And that’s what I love about Pilates: the location and equipment can change without compromising the quality of the work.
Great teaching isn’t dependent on being in the same room. It’s about watching closely, catching the details, giving meaningful corrections, challenging you appropriately, and knowing how to help you progress.
Today, she’s in her mid-40s and says she’s in the best shape of her life. But what means even more to me is that Pilates has remained a consistent part of her life through seasons of change.
Because effective Pilates isn’t about where you train.
It’s about how you’re taught and whether you keep showing up.
And yes, you can absolutely learn Pilates online.
