The Florida Prevention Research Center focus is on Community-Based Prevention Marketing: Building Local Capacity for Disease Prevention and Health Promotion. Community-Based Prevention Marketing is a community directed social change process that applies marketing theories and techniques to the design, implementation and evaluation of health promotion and disease prevention programs. Currently the

Florida Prevention Research Center has established collaboration with a coalition involving leaders from the Tampa Bay Community Cancer Network, Florida Department of Health, American Cancer Society, Florida Colorectal Cancer Control Program, and Community Health Worker Coalition, local county health units in the Tampa Bay area, community members, and service providers, including Federally Qualifies Health Clinics. This purpose of this collaboration is to use evidence-based research to increase colorectal cancer screening in the state of Florida.

COPH's Dr. Mahmooda Khaliq Pasha recently represented USF's World Health Organization Collaborating Center at the first-ever Global Forum of WHO Collaborating Centres in Lyon, France.

The event brought together public health leaders from more than 80 countries to strengthen global collaboration and advance solutions to today’s most pressing health challenges.

Congratulations to Harry Bishop who was awarded the University of Florida Health Outcomes and Biomedical Informatics 2026 Innovation Scholar Award for his proposal: "Developing Student-Driven To***co Control Strategies".

Harry is a Junior at UF where he is a to***co cessation researcher. He also serves on the Vapes on Campus Statewide Young Adult Advisory Committee. We recognize his vision in bringing commercial to***co control into this space in order to positively impact the health of UF students.
