Snatches aren't dangerous or bad for your shoulders. You just have to perform the responsibly. 😉

🚨 You can’t shoot a cannon from a canoe.

Your shoulder blade needs a stable foundation for the muscles that attach to it to do their jobs effectively.

That’s where the serratus anterior comes in. It helps keep the scapula anchored to the rib cage and provides the stability needed for efficient shoulder movement, strength, and control.

If the scapula can’t move and stabilize well, the muscles attaching to it are trying to produce force from an unstable base.

Stable scapula → better force production → better shoulder function. 💥

Improving the strength of your scapular and rotator cuff muscles through targeted accessory exercises is a great way to keep your shoulders healthy and pain-free.

One simple exercise I use to improve my upper back strength and mobility to keep my shoulders healthy.

Back to full training, but the rehab isn’t done. ✌🏼

Feeling better ≠ being fully recovered.
Being able to train again ≠ being 100%.

I’m still putting in the work because I don’t want to simply get back to where I was. I want my ankle to be stronger, more capable, and more resilient than it was before.

I don’t want to just tolerate the movement. I want to own it.

The job isn’t done when the pain goes away.
The job isn’t done when you can return to training.
The job is done when you’ve rebuilt the capacity to handle what you’re asking your body to do…and then some.

So yeah, I’m back to training AND I’m still doing my rehab.

Because return to training is the milestone. Getting better than before is the goal. 🔥

Your abs and groin aren’t working in isolation. 👇

They’re connected through the anterior sling; a system that helps transfer force between your trunk and your hip.

Why does that matter?

If your sport involves rotation, cutting, changing direction, or explosive movement, you need more than just strong abs or strong adductors. You need them to work together.

Training the anterior sling can help you:
🟣 Create rotational power
🟣 Control rotation
🟣 Transfer force between your upper and lower body
🟣 Stabilize the pelvis during cutting & change of direction
🟣 Build strength in positions that actually resemble sport

Train the way you move. 💪

If you're an overhead athlete, this is a great exercise to add as accessory work to build more resilient shoulders.

From missed red flags to just completely misunderstanding the mechanism of injury, there are so many things wrong with your personal trainer, strength coach, etc. Trying to rehab your injury.

They may have your best interest in mind, but it is out of their scope of practice.

Main point, seek a qualified health care professional when you have an injury.

For general overuse injuries that can be resolved by some mobility work and some targeted loading, sure, online rehab programs can work well. But when you have a more complex injury, you need eyes on you to figure out what's going on.
