Recently, kids from Opendoor Church Summer Camp in Winterville, NC visited our community as part of their Kingdom Come Service Week! 💕 They spent time with our residents helping with crafts, playing games, and enjoying meaningful conversations and interactions.

✨ July Resident Spotlight: Lois ✨

Lois was chosen as our July Resident Spotlight because of her positive attitude, active participation in activities, and willingness to help others in any way she can.

As one of our Resident Ambassadors, Lois does a wonderful job connecting with new residents and helping them feel comfortable and welcomed at The Barclay House. She enjoys building friendships and believes the people in our community are what make The Barclay House so special.

Before joining our community, Lois spent 32 years as a middle school teacher in Ayden, North Carolina, and also served as an Assistant Principal. She has many fond memories of her time in education and still keeps in touch with some of her former students.

Lois believes in taking care of yourself and your health. Her advice to others is: “Take care of your body and your health. Try to eat right and get as much exercise as you can.”

In her free time, Lois enjoys reading, shopping, cooking, and hosting small social gatherings with fellow residents. She also loves southern gospel music and fresh fruit.

We are honored to have Lois as part of the Barclay House family and appreciate the kindness, friendship, and positivity she brings to our community every day!
