CLERGY APPRECIATION DAY
On the second Sunday in October, communities are encouraged to pause and reflect on the tireless work of their spiritual leaders. It’s Clergy Appreciation Day, a time set aside to formally recognize the ministers, pastors, and priests who guide and support their congregations. This observance is a cornerstone of National Clergy Month, which dedicates all of October to honoring these dedicated individuals.


The role of a clergy member often extends far beyond the pulpit. They are counselors in times of crisis, teachers in moments of curiosity, and community pillars during times of uncertainty. The demands are constant, and the emotional and spiritual weight they carry is significant. That's why taking a moment to show gratitude can have such a profound impact.

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Edward G. Pry of Taylor, who passed away Thursday at Allied Skilled Nursing Center.

Ed was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, Navy veteran, and man of deep faith. He and his beloved wife, Dolores, recently celebrated 67 years of marriage—a beautiful testament to their life together.

He will be remembered for his quiet strength, loyalty, love of family, and pride in the Riverside Vikings.

❤️ Our thoughts and prayers are with Dolores and the entire Pry family during this difficult time.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph J. Flanagan Jr., of Moosic, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 8, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Joe was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, generous spirit, love of family, and lifelong friendships. He shared nearly 60 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Bettiann, and took great pride in his three sons and six grandchildren.

A proud United States Army veteran and faithful Catholic, Joe will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

May his memory be eternal. 🇺🇸

🏆 BREAKING NEWS: After a lengthy investigation (lasting nearly 30 seconds), the committee has once again named Tammy our Employee of the Month!

Whether she's comforting a family, lending a hand to someone in need, or somehow managing to be everywhere at once, Tammy always goes above and beyond. Her compassion, dedication, and heart for serving others make her an invaluable part of our funeral home family.

At this point, we're starting to think we should just rename the award... "The Tammy Award."

In all seriousness, there are very few people who give of themselves as selflessly as Tammy. She has a heart for others, always puts people before herself, and reminds us every day what kindness, compassion, and service truly look like. We are incredibly blessed to have her as part of our family.

We love you, Mom! Thank you for everything you do. You are a true inspiration, and this place simply wouldn't be the same without you. ❤️
