The story behind the name Little Fireflies ✨

When my husband and I first started dating, we started watching a TV show called Firefly. If you know us, you know we’re a little nerdy, so it probably won’t surprise you that the show became part of our story.

When we got married, he even quoted Firefly in his wedding vows. And when we named our children Malcolm and Zoe, two of the main characters from the series.

So when it came time to name Little Fireflies, it just felt right. It was a little piece of our family, our love story, and the things that make us who we are.

"Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take a boat in the air you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home."

Little Fireflies is currently a self-pay clinic with sliding-scale pricing, but depending on your insurance plan, you may have out-of-network benefits for pediatric speech and/or occupational therapy.

If your plan offers out-of-network coverage, you may be able to submit a superbill from Little Fireflies to your insurance company and receive reimbursement for a portion of your therapy costs.

✨ What should you do?
Call your insurance company and ask:

“Does my plan provide out-of-network benefits for pediatric speech or occupational therapy?”

If they do, we can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance.

We are currently working toward becoming in-network with Medicaid and Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS). These are the only insurance companies we are currently pursuing in-network status with, and we don't have an estimated completion date yet.

Please remember that out-of-network reimbursement varies by insurance plan, and Little Fireflies cannot guarantee that your insurance company will reimburse you.

We just want to make sure our families know about every option available that may help make therapy a little more affordable. 💛
