Sometimes we take for granted even the simplest things.
Moments like this remind me why I do low vision care.

Most people do not realize this, but when you are told nothing more can be done for your vision, that usually just means medically.
It does not mean nothing can be done for your life.

Low vision care is about what comes next. It is about learning how to use the vision you still have so you can keep doing the things that matter to you.

This became personal for me when my wife started losing her vision. Walking through that with her changed how I see patient care completely. It made me realize how much of this is not about an eye chart. It is about reading, moving around safely, feeling independent, and just being able to live your life.

That is why I focus on low vision. I am not interested in rushed exams or one size fits all solutions. I want to understand what someone is actually struggling with and work through it together in a way that makes sense for their life.

If you or someone you love is dealing with vision loss, there are options. It usually just starts with a conversation.

My wife lives with vision loss, and walking through that journey with her completely changed how I approach patient care.
That’s what led me to focus on low vision, helping people not just “see better,” but live better with the vision they still have.

If you or someone you love is struggling with vision loss, there are options. It starts with understanding your life, not just your eyesight.
