𝗔𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗘𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
Alexander Hospice has been recognized with the 2026 Hospice Honors Elite award from MatrixCare, placing the local hospice among the highest-performing hospice agencies recognized through the program.
The Hospice CAHPS Honors program recognizes hospice agencies that demonstrate exceptional quality of care based on the experiences and satisfaction of patients and their caregivers. Alexander Hospice earned the program’s highest level of recognition—Hospice Honors Elite—by scoring above the MatrixCare National Performance Score on all 22 quality indicator measures evaluated through the Hospice Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) survey.
The recognition is based on Hospice CAHPS survey results collected from April through December 2025. To qualify for the Honors program, hospices must meet specific participation requirements and demonstrate strong performance compared with the national scores within the MatrixCare Hospice CAHPS database.
Hospice Honors is awarded to agencies that score above the MatrixCare National Score on at least 17 of the 22 evaluated questions. The Hospice Honors Elite distinction is reserved for hospices that exceed the national performance score on 100% of the 22 measures.
For Alexander Hospice, the recognition represents more than a collection of survey scores. It reflects the trust families place in the hospice team during some of the most difficult and meaningful moments of their lives. “We are incredibly honored to receive the Hospice Honors Elite recognition,” said Jamison Presnell, Executive Director. “This achievement belongs to our entire hospice team, but most importantly, it belongs to the patients and families who allow us to walk alongside them. Their experiences and feedback are what make this recognition so meaningful.”
The CAHPS Hospice Survey measures important aspects of the hospice experience, including communication, care, emotional and spiritual support, respect, and overall satisfaction with hospice services. Achieving Elite status on all 22 measures is a tremendous accomplishment and a reflection of Alexander Hospice’s ongoing commitment to compassionate, patient- and family-centered care. “We are grateful to every caregiver who took the time to share their experience through the survey,” said Mrs. Presnell. “We are also grateful to our nurses, aides, social workers, chaplain, volunteers, physicians, administrative staff and everyone who works together each day to provide care and support to the families we serve.”
