Linda embraced her faith with steady devotion, and it remained a guiding light throughout her life. Her deep spiritual commitment shaped her character, providing a steady source of strength, peace, and comfort through every season of life.
Including her parents, Linda was preceded in death by a brother, James Highley.
Linda married her teenage sweetheart, Tommy Bennett, on October 28, 1961. Together they shared nearly 65 wonderful years of marriage, building a loving home rooted in faith, laughter, cherished traditions, and enduring memories that will be treasured for generations. Family was the center of Linda’s universe; she loved her family more than anything. Linda was a proud and loving mother to her four children: Mylinda Bennett Jones (husband, George) of Statesville, Tommy M. Bennett (wife, Melanie) of Statesville; nine grandchildren: Jordan Boone, Hannah Callison Feimster (husband, Will), Noah Jones, Haylee Callison Sherrill (husband, Allen), Osiah Bennett (wife, Cali), Samantha Sharp, Kelsey Lou Bennett (fiancé Mitch), Adelin Bennett Kerns (husband, Skyler) and Chloe Jones; plus a number of great-grandchildren; her sisters: Ruth Lovelace of Ohio, Debbie Bryant (husband, George) of Florida; her brother, Doug Highley (wife, Karen) of Ohio; as well as her aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Linda was a loving wife, cherished mother, and beloved grandmother whose boundless love, gentle wisdom, and unwavering faith touched countless lives and left a lasting impression on all who were fortunate enough to know her. She created a home that was a haven of love, comfort, and understanding, a beautiful reflection of her gentle spirit and caring heart.
