⚡ Why is Hypericum often called the nerve remedy?

Have you ever bumped a fingertip or stubbed a toe and felt that sharp, electric pain shoot through the area? That type of pain is one reason homeopaths think of Hypericum perforatum.

Hypericum is traditionally considered following injuries to areas rich in nerve endings—such as the fingers, toes, tailbone and spine. Some of its most recognizable keynotes include:

⚡ Sharp, shooting or electric-like pain
⚡ Pain that travels along the path of a nerve
⚡ Crushed fingers or toes
⚡ Tailbone injuries
⚡ Extreme tenderness in the injured area

It’s another helpful remedy to know for summertime adventures, when active families may encounter falls, slammed fingers and unexpected injuries.

Crush injuries, deep puncture wounds, possible fractures, spinal or tailbone injuries, loss of sensation, weakness, severe pain or worsening symptoms require prompt medical evaluation of course but homeopathy can help relieve the pain and assist in healing the injury.

Perimenopause ✔️
Hashimoto’s ✔️
Hypothyroidism ✔️

I’ve experienced many of the symptoms women commonly describe during perimenopause—along with autoimmune flares.

For me, things began improving when I addressed nutrient deficiencies, looked beyond whether my labs were simply “normal,” and identified the foods that were triggering inflammation in my body.

Today, I’m feeling symptom-free and have lost 10 pounds that appeared to be connected to inflammation—simply by addressing my personal food sensitivities.

Of course, this is my journey, and every woman is different. I’m sharing because it may encourage someone else to keep searching for the “why” behind how she feels.

And ladies, let’s talk about the midsection changes/weight gain that can happen during what I jokingly call “cougar puberty.” 😄 Hormonal shifts can change how and where our bodies store fat, often moving more of it toward the abdomen. These changes are common—and they are not a personal failure.

Give yourself some grace. We aren’t 18 anymore, and our bodies are moving through a major transition.

Strength train. Eat nourishing whole foods. Focus more on how you feel vs how you look for what the scale says. Health should not be measured by the scale alone. Address your individual deficiencies and sensitivities. Work with a qualified provider when needed. Most importantly, keep asking why you’re experiencing your symptoms instead of assuming you simply have to live with them. 💕

What is the one perimenopause symptom you wish someone would help you understand?

🌼 Why is Arnica one of the first remedies I pack for summer adventures?

Summer usually means more time outside—hiking, swimming, playing sports, traveling and working in the yard. It can also mean more bumps, falls, bruises and sore muscles!

Arnica montana is traditionally considered after physical injury or overexertion when the body feels bruised, sore or achy all over. A person needing Arnica may also be unusually sensitive to touch and insist that they’re fine—even when they clearly aren’t!

That recognizable combination is what makes Arnica such a useful remedy to know and one I like to keep close by for active families.

Seek medical care for a serious injury, head trauma, severe pain, inability to use the injured area, significant swelling or symptoms that are worsening but you can use Arnica on the way to the hospital to bring comfort on the way.

🐝 Why do so many homeopaths think of Apis after a bee sting?

Apis mellifica is traditionally considered when a sting or insect bite causes puffy, red swelling with burning or stinging discomfort—especially when the area feels better with something cold and worse from heat.

One of the most helpful things about learning homeopathy is recognizing these little clues. It isn’t simply what happened—it’s how the person’s body responds.

A sting accompanied by difficulty breathing, swelling of the lips, tongue or throat, dizziness, widespread hives, vomiting, or other signs of a severe allergic reaction is an emergency. Use prescribed epinephrine and call 911 immediately. Homeopathy should never delay emergency treatment.

CURCUMIN & CYCLOSPORA: WHAT DOES THE RESEARCH SHOW & WHAT TO DO?

You may have seen the video of the study I shared showing that curcumin can terminate cyclospora in mice trials.

"Regular curcumin reduced Cyclospora shedding by approximately 93.5."

Granted that curcumin has not been shown to prevent or treat Cyclospora in humans BUT if you are someone that CAN take curcumin, I do not see a reason why you shouldn't have this supplement on hand or even take it a few times a week if you can benefit from curcumin's properties anyway (anti-inflammatory, antioxidant effects that support joint, brain, heart, etc...).

**Curcumin may not be appropriate for everyone**
Speak with your practitioner before starting any new supplement.
-Take blood thinners or antiplatelet medications
-Have liver disease or elevated liver enzymes
-Have gallstones, gallbladder inflammation or bile-duct obstruction
- Pregnant or breastfeeding
-Upcoming surgery
-Have active diarrhea, reflux, gastritis or a sensitive digestive system
-Take diabetes, chemo, immunosuppressants, or blood-pressure medications
-Have Iron deficiency or a history of calcium-oxalate kidney stones

The curcumin I'm taking is in the comments. Those that are members of my Fullscript Dispensary receive a 10% discount. I've created a protocol in my Fullscript Dispensary for you.

🌿 Why Wednesday

Why is Ledum one of my favorite remedies to keep on hand during the summer?

Summer means more time outside...

And unfortunately...

More mosquito bites, bee stings, and puncture wounds.

One homeopathic remedy I often think about during the summer months is Ledum palustre.

Ledum is commonly considered when there's a puncture wound—whether from an insect bite, sting, thorn, nail, or other sharp object. A clue that often points me toward Ledum is when the area feels better with cold and worse from warmth.

Of course, homeopathy is individualized, so there's never a "one remedy fits all" approach. But learning the keynotes of a few common remedies can be incredibly empowering for families.

💚 That's one of my greatest hopes for my clients—not only that they heal, but that they learn how to confidently use homeopathy for everyday situations.

Do you keep a homeopathy kit at home?

🌿 Have you ever wondered why two people with the same thyroid diagnosis can feel completely different?

One person struggles with fatigue and brain fog.

Another deals with anxiety, constipation, hair loss, or weight gain.

Same diagnosis.
Different symptoms.

A diagnosis tells us what condition we have—but it doesn't always explain why we feel the way we do.

That's why I believe healing begins by understanding the whole person, not just the diagnosis. When we start putting the puzzle pieces together, we can better understand what our bodies are trying to communicate.

✨ This month I'm offering two opportunities to help you do just that:

🌿 Thyroid Reset: A Root Cause Workshop
📅 July 25

✨ Personalized Wellness Scans
📅 July 23
Only 4 spots remain!

💚 Your body isn't working against you.
It's communicating with you.
Let's learn how to listen.

🚨 Health Alert: Cyclospora Cases Are on the Rise

Have you heard of Cyclosporiasis?

Cyclosporiasis is an intestinal illness caused by a microscopic parasite called Cyclospora cayetanensis. Unlike many stomach bugs, this is not a bacteria or a virus—it's a parasite that most commonly spreads through contaminated fresh produce.

What are the symptoms?

• 💥 Explosive, watery diarrhea
• 🤢 Nausea (sometimes vomiting)
• 😖 Severe abdominal cramping
• 💨 Bloating and excessive gas
• 😴 Extreme fatigue that can last for weeks
• 📅 Symptoms may come and go if left untreated

How does it spread?

Cyclospora usually contaminates produce before it reaches your kitchen, often through contaminated irrigation water or during harvesting. It does not typically spread directly from person to person because the parasite must mature in the environment before it becomes infectious.

Produce that has been linked to previous outbreaks:

🥬 Leafy greens
🥗 Bagged salad mixes
🌿 Fresh basil
🌿 Cilantro
🌿 Parsley
🫛 Snow peas
🫐 Raspberries

How to properly wash your produce
✔ Wash your hands before handling produce.
✔ Rinse fruits and vegetables under cool, running water—even if you plan to peel them.
✔ Gently rub firm produce (such as cucumbers or apples) while rinsing. Use a clean produce brush when appropriate.
✔ Dry produce with a clean paper towel or cloth.
❌ Avoid washing produce with harmful products like bleach. You can use vinegar or baking soda soaks while these breakdown or help remove pesticides they have not been shown to reliably remove Cyclospora. I use them anyway.

Can homeopathy help?

Homeopathy may provide supportive symptom relief while you seek appropriate medical care, but it should not replace medical evaluation or treatment. Cyclospora infections often require prescription antibiotics, especially when symptoms are severe or prolonged.

Homeopathic remedies commonly considered for these symptoms:

🌿 Podophyllum – Copious, explosive, gushing watery diarrhea, often worse in the morning with loud gurgling.

🌿 Arsenicum album – Food poisoning-type illness with burning diarrhea, restlessness, anxiety, weakness, and thirst for frequent small sips.

🌿 China officinalis (Cinchona) – Profound weakness and exhaustion after significant fluid loss, bloating, gas, and dehydration.

🌿 Veratrum album – Violent diarrhea with vomiting, cold sweat, collapse, and severe dehydration.

🌿 Aloe socotrina – Sudden urgency, inability to hold stool, rumbling abdomen, and explosive stools with gas.

🚨 Seek medical care immediately if diarrhea is severe, lasts more than a few days, you notice blood in the stool, develop a high fever, or experience signs of dehydration such as dizziness, dry mouth, very dark urine, or decreased urination.

💚 Stay informed. Wash your produce. Protect your gut.
