This sweet little one arrived on Saturday evening surrounded by love. She did the earth shattering job of creating brand new parents and they were an inspiration of what partnership, trust and love can be. midwife

The 6 week visit. So full of love and story telling. So often, when first time parents walk in the door for this last visit together, we are struck by transformations. The couple we met in early pregnancy have a new look ~ often both a new strength and a new softness. They have been reborn. The tiny infant we beheld at her birth is smiling and making eye contact… she has gotten rounder and softer as her mom becomes less so! We are blessed to have witnessed them becoming a family… and the goodbye is bittersweet. #2!

This sweet soul connected with everyone the moment he arrived. It wasn’t an easy journey and I think he knew that we were all earth side awaiting his safe passage. Carol Leonard writes of midwives as possessing the “hands of a lady, the eyes of a hawk and the heart of a lion”, in all these ways and more I waited with my sister midwives for this little one. So grateful to hold him in my hands and welcome him with the new day.
