Edna May Young

Edna May Young, 94, passed peacefully on October 12, 2026, with her daughter, Lisa and son-in-law, Joe by her side.

She was born on April 30, 1932, and was the oldest child of Clyde and Emma May (Feix) Parr.

She was a 1950 graduate of Tell City High School. Edna May married the love of her life Arthur L. Young on June 2, 1953, and celebrated almost 61 years together. They embarked on newlywed life and built a home on Deer Creek. They enjoyed square dancing, water skiing and playing cards with friends. They were blessed with two children, Lisa and David and enjoyed family vacations and picnics.

Edna May never had to seek a job as they always found her. She worked for several years at WTCJ radio station in bookkeeping and at Southwire Aluminum in the plant and in the office. She also worked at First Cannelton National Bank and at Cox Oil Company. After retiring, she and Art enjoyed traveling and visited forty nine of the fifty states.

Edna May enjoyed participating in 4-H, reading, sewing, baking, doing crafts, and decorating wedding cakes. She gave generously of her time to Eastern Star, First United Methodist Church in Cannelton and was a past member of the Perry County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

She was instrumental in providing food for the local auctions to help support the church.

She was Worthy Matron at the Tell City and Pendleton Chapters of Eastern Star and the Grand Representative to Oklahoma

Edna May was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Emma Parr; husband, Art Young; a son, David Young; brothers, Clyde Parr, Jr. and Gerald Parr.

Surviving is her daughter Lisa (Joe Smelser); granddaughter, Jessica Weedman (Tyler); great grandchildren, Barrett and June Weedman; a sister Linda Weigand (Kenny); a brother George Parr and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM CDT on Monday October 19, 2026, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel with Paul Alvey officiating. Burial will follow in New Cliff Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Monday from 9:00-10:45AM, when the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #272 will conduct a service.

The family would like to thank the staff at Rawlins House in Pendleton for their exceptional care.

Connie Thomas

Connie Sue Thomas, 76, passed away on October 10, 2026, at Oakwood Health Campus. We are sure that tongues were wagging in Heaven and so were the tails, as she was greeted by family, friends and some of her beloved pets, Tippy, Sparky, Pretty Boy, Puppy and Oscar.

Connie was born on September 5, 1950, daughter of John L. and Lorene A. (Russell) Fulkerson. She was a 1969 graduate of Chrisney High School and had worked at Fischer Chair. She was united in marriage on August 27, 1978, to Ramon Thomas. They shared 48 years together, leaving wonderful memories for their family to cherish.

Connie was a member of Hilldale Methodist Church in Lewisport, Kentucky. She enjoyed flowers, bird watching, gardening, cooking and reading but most of all Connie loved animals. Whether it was her gentle spirit or genuine intuition, dogs were drawn to her, and she always looked forward to spending time with her grand dogs.

Connie was awarded the Lydia Metz Award through Visiting Nurse Association; an outstanding nonprofessional caregiver award as she so humbly took care of her mother who battled ovarian cancer. Connie and Ramon opened their home and dedicated many selfless hours for her care.

Surviving is her husband, Ramon Thomas; daughter, Sarah Thomas; stepchildren, David M. Thomas (Martha), Chris Howell (Randy) and Scott Thomas; a sister Diane Williams (Jack); brothers, Rodney Fulkerson and Herbie Fulkerson (Debbie); and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; sisters, Kathy Christmas, Debbie Kline, Faye DeHart and Leona DeHart and brothers, Donald DeHart and Johnny Fulkerson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CDT on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Monday from 3:00-7:00 PM and on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.

Because Connie was an animal lover, memorial contributions may be made to Humane World for Animals.

Gary Singer

Gary L. Singer, 56, passed away on September 30, 2026, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.

Gary was born in Huntingburg, Indiana on July 3, 1970, son of Ralph and Rosalee (Thacker) Singer. He was a 1989 graduate of Huntingburg High School.

After spending 14 years together, Gary married Rita Reed on August 9, 2013, and it was seldom that you would see one without the other.

Gary never met a stranger. He loved to make people laugh and always had a smile on his face. He was a huge sports fan and would always be ready for a road trip to catch a nearby game, especially if was IU, the Cowboys or Yankees. Gary looked forward to getting together with family and friends.

Gary will be remembered for his big heart and generosity. He liked to help people whenever he was able.

Surviving is his wife, Rita Singer; daughter, Tara Cronin (Paul Pevlor); grandchildren, Jordan Snyder and Brooklyn Pevlor; a sister, Phyllis Roberts and brothers, Gordon Singer and Donald Singer.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Peggy Blaize and Charlene Egloff and brothers, Rick Singer and Terry Singer.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM CDT on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Wayne Matheis will officiate.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 1:00-6:00 PM CDT at the funeral home.

Ginger Fisher

Ginger R. Fisher, 63, passed away on September 29, 2026, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.

She was born on June 21, 1963, daughter of Billy and Glodean (Kellems) Kratzer. Ginger was a 1981 graduate of Tell City High School. Ginger was united in marriage to John Fisher on July 24, 1982, at First Baptist Church. After 40 years of working at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, she retired as assistant manager.

Ginger was a member and church pianist at Freewill Baptist Church in Cannelton. She adored her “grandpups”, Milo, Sophie, Bo, Ellie and Nigel. Ginger loved shopping for clothes, shoes, purses and jewelry. She usually would include a stop at Hobby Lobby too. Ginger was a fan of Lynyrd Skynyrd and would never miss an opportunity to sing one of their songs during karaoke night. She always looked forward to her family’s annual trips to Gatlinburg. Ginger and John had just gotten back from a week there.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, John Fisher; sons, Trevor Fisher (Heather) and Zach Fisher (Stephanie); grandson, Ryan Fisher and brother, Jeff Kratzer (Sabrina).

Preceding her in death were parents, Billy and Glodean Kratzer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CST on Monday, October 5, 2026, at Freewill Baptist Church, 117 South Second Street, Cannelton. Brother Tim Gaynor will officiate. Burial will follow in New Cliff Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Freewill Baptist Church on Sunday from 2:00-6:00 PM CST and 9:00-11:00 AM on Monday.

Patsy Zellers

Patsy L. Zellers, 89, passed away on September 28, 2026, at Oakwood Health Campus.

She was born on April 14, 1937, to Andrew and Edna (Glenn) Birchler.

A 1955 graduate of Tell City High School, Patsy soon married Frank “Poodie” Zellers in December of 1956. They were married for 50 years before his passing in 2007.

Patsy had worked at the family business, Zellers Garage, for over 40 years. She also worked at General Electric. Patsy was a faithful member of St. Paul Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella.

Patsy enjoyed playing Bridge and Euchre, traveling and loving her cats, Merle and Rosie. She looked forward to family cruises and bus trips with friends. Most of all, Patsy loved spending time with her family; which she was the heart of.

Surviving are her children, Michael Kent Zellers (Kim), Mark Zellers (Cheryl), Denny Zellers (Carol) and Keith Zellers (Amanda); a brother, Ronnie Birchler; grandchildren, Kassie Risse (Ryan), Kyla Rigby (Ben), Cherie Etienne (Jared), Cynthia Zellers, Wesley Zellers (Ashley), Dane Zellers (Ashley), Brandon Zellers (Lauren), Whitney Brown (C**t), Claire Stahly (Nick), Noah Roll and Emilie Roll (Hayden Shadwick) and 17 great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death was her father, Andrew Birchler, her mother and stepfather, Edna and Charlie Hubbs, her husband, Poodie Zellers, a brother, Jerry Birchler, great granddaughter, Ava Marie Zellers and great grandson, Camiren Etienne.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM CST on Friday, October 2, 2026, at St. Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Tony Hollowell will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2:00 -7:00 PM with a D of I service beginning at 7:00 PM and on Friday from 8:00-9:30 AM at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church, Oakwood Health Campus Activity Fund or Perry County Memorial Hospital.

The Zeller’s family would like to acknowledge and say “thank you” to all the nurses, doctors and staff at Oakwood Health Campus, Perry County Memorial Hospital and Ascension St. Vincent, Evansville for the amazing care and kindness everyone had shown to Patsy and her family. It did not go unnoticed and will not be forgotten.

Robin Rand

Robin Dianne Rand, 71, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 11th. She departed peacefully in her home, surrounded by friends who had truly become family, doing one of the things she loved the most; listening and singing to praise and worship music.

Robin was born on June 5th, 1955, in Butler Missouri, the only daughter of Russell and Ruth Anne Ireland. Robin graduated from Adrian High School and attended Central Missouri State University.

Robin was a woman of great faith in Jesus Christ and she shined bright for the Lord in everything she did. Her unwavering faith in God, her wisdom, and hunger for more knowledge continued to impact those around her in their own faith walk right up until the Lord called her home. She was a devoted member of Crossroads Church Tell City, where she led bible studies and served faithfully in Women's Ministry.

Robin loved so very powerfully and had the most infectious laughter. She enjoyed being outdoors, crafting, and spending time with family and friends. Family time was something she cherished deeply.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lenox Rand, who was her best friend for 40 years. Their relationship was a testament of love to anyone who had the privilege to witness it.

She is survived by her two sons, Sam Rand (Sarah) and Jesse Rand (Heather) who's wives felt more like true daughters than in-laws, as well as her grandchildren Madigan, Lenox, Lila, Melody, and Maxwell (Sam & Sarah), and Haylie and Jonah (Jesse & Heather), along with her two brothers, David Ireland (Sally) and Ronald Ireland (Tammy).

The Rand Family would like to express their sincerest gratitude toward Heart to Heart Hospice and all of the nurses and aids who treated Robin with outstanding love and care. Each of you impacted Robin's life in a special way.

Also, to the women of Crossroads Church Tell City who poured their hearts, their time, and their energy into helping to care for Robin in the most beautiful, loving way, we thank you and we love you.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 19th, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM CST at Crossroads Church Tell City, located at 1002 33rd Street, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM CST.

A luncheon will be provided downstairs directly after the service.

Tina Wright

Tina Marie Wright, 60, passed away September 13, 2026, at Baptist Health in New Albany, Indiana.

She was born on October 15, 1965, daughter of Franklin and Violet (Krutz) Patterson.

Tina worked at Julie’s Tell Street Cafe and The Patio before her health led her to retirement. She loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing and mushroom hunting. Tina was a social butterfly that easily had the loudest laugh in the room as she was always up for a good time. A friend to many, a smile was always on her face, and she will be missed by her family and friends.

Surviving is her son, Cody Wright of Cannelton.

Preceding her in death were her parents and brother, Franklin Dale “Frankie” Patterson.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel is assisting with Tina’s arrangements.

Gerald Jones

Gerald A. Jones, 76, passed away on August 31, 2026, at Brickyard Healthcare in Tell City.

He was born on January 23, 1950, a son of Jerry Edwin Jones and Gloria Lois (Szabo) Shomate.

Gerald worked at Farbest Foods in Huntingburg, where he met his wife, Rose. He also worked for Quality Cleaning at Waupaca Foundry. Later, he worked as a door greeter at Walmart, where he continued working until his retirement.

Gerald enjoyed working on cars, fishing, CB radios, thrifting, listening to music, and socializing with friends. Known as "Bounty Hunter" on the CB radio, he enjoyed the connections and conversations it brought. He was also a fan of Superman and Spider-Man. Later in life, he developed an interest in collecting vintage marbles. He also enjoyed spending time with and caring for their dogs, Lacey and Taz, whom he loved to spoil.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Rose (Ballow) Jones, with whom he made his home in Cannelton; his stepdaughter, Heather Marie Mullen (Michael Hinton), whom Gerald raised and loved as a daughter, and her son, Beau Winder; his daughter , Pennie Jones, and her three children, Phoenix, Amos, and Skyla; stepchildren, Sandy Curtis, Roger Mullen, and Amy Mullen; his sister, Elizabeth "Pixie" Tinsley and his brothers, Lawrence "LC" Jones, Michael "Mikey" Jones, and Johnny Jones.

A Celebration of Gerald's life will be held at a later date. Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel, is assisting his family with the arrangements.
