Talon’s Comeback Story:

Talon Dotson suffered a catastrophic knee injury 1 year ago against West Washington. Nobody should go through what Talon has in the last year, let alone a kid. This recovery featured so many peaks and valleys, but one thing remained constant: Talon’s drive and will to get back on the field. He never once came to my office saying “why did this happen to me?” He was always eager to progress and work on what’s next, never dwelling in the past. This didn’t happen with a couple of PT appointments a week. This took Talon completing everything on his own at home or at the gym. And I can attest, Talon has lived in the gym this past year. From seeing him score a TD in week 1 this year in his first game action since, to watching him play against the very team he was injured against last night. I am beyond proud of this young man and all the hard work and dedication he has put in over the last year to get to this point. I’m a better physical therapist today because of Talon and I’m thankful his family trusted me in his recovery. Keep going, kid. The sky is the limit.

A little backstory to this photo:

Jayne is one of my most loyal patients who has become a great friend over the years. Like a lot of my patients this past year we bonded over the Indiana Hoosiers football team, most notably Fernando Mendoza. It was clear how much Jane enjoyed watching him play and how extraordinary he is off the field. We had also talked about sports cards and how she had collected some when she was younger. So when I had a chance to grab an extra one of his first rookie cards, it was a no brainer who it should go to!
