🌟🌼 DAISY Award Q1 2026 Winner Spotlight: Ayleah Alejandre, RN 🌼🏥
Congratulations to DAISY Award Winner Ayleah Alejandre, RN! Ayleah exemplifies the extraordinary compassion, professionalism, and dedication that define exceptional nursing care. During a patient’s ICU stay following an intracerebral hemorrhage and decompressive craniectomy, Ayleah provided calm reassurance, clear communication, and unwavering support to both the patient and their family.
In moments of fear and uncertainty, she took time to explain complex medical information in an easy-to-understand way and remained by the patient’s side—offering comfort, honesty, and even gentle humor to ease anxiety. Her thoughtful care, especially during a visit from the patient’s young daughter, ensured dignity and peace during a traumatic experience. Ayleah’s empathy and unwavering commitment truly reflect the spirit of the DAISY Award.
While Ayleah was unable to attend the award ceremony in person, she was serving in another remarkable role. In addition to being an ICU RN at Temecula Valley Hospital, Ayleah is Major Ayleah “TAHO” Alejandre, an MV 22 pilot in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. She is currently completing required refresher flight training at Marine Corps Air Station New River in North Carolina, preparing for an upcoming deployment to Djibouti where her squadron will support missions across Africa and the Middle East.
Whether at the bedside or in the cockpit, Ayleah’s dedication to service is extraordinary. As she puts it best: “In my real life, I’m Ayleah, ICU RN, and I have the best job on the planet. In my other life, I’m Major Ayleah ‘TAHO’ Alejandre, MV 22 pilot—which is the second best job in the world.”
Thank you for being an inspiration to us all, Ayleah! 💐
