We've come a long way these last 40 years. Here's a quick glimpse at our history ⬇️

🕛 1986: Arizona’s first organ donation program is born
Organ donation in most of Arizona was originally coordinated by a department of Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center (now called Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix). By 1986, the hospital had established the state’s first organ and tissue bank, Arizona Organ and Tissue Bank (AOTB).

🕑1992: AOTB became an independent, community-based organization
With the support of Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph’s Hospital & Medical Center and University Medical Center, AOTB became an independent, community-based organization in 1992.

🕧1993: AOTB changed its name to Donor Network of Arizona (DNA).

🕐1995: DNA acquired the Arizona Lions Eye and Tissue Bank
DNA acquired the Arizona Lions Eye and Tissue Bank in spring 1995 and became the only eye recovery agency in the state.

🕛1997: DNA incorporates an immunogenetics laboratory
DNA added an immunogenetics laboratory for genetic testing to match organs to kidney and pancreas recipients.

🕒2020: DNA moves
DNA relocated its main office location to Tempe, Arizona after decades in Phoenix.

📍Now: DNA serves the entire state
DNA serves the entire state of Arizona from its home office located in Tempe and a satellite office located in Tucson.
