But often, it comes down to positioning.

How your baby is supported at the breast can affect how well they latch, how comfortable feeding feels, and how efficiently they’re able to feed.

These signs are common — and often fixable with small adjustments.

Many parents are told that breastfeeding might be uncomfortable at first — but over time, it should start to feel more manageable and consistent.

Comfortable.
Rhythmic.
Supported.
Sustainable.

If it doesn’t feel that way, it’s worth paying attention.

That doesn’t always mean something is wrong, but it can be a sign that something during the feeding could be adjusted or better supported.

Sometimes it’s a small shift.

When breastfeeding feels hard, many parents assume something bigger is going on.

But often, it comes down to positioning.

Small adjustments in how your baby is supported at the breast can make a noticeable difference in comfort, latch, and how feeding feels overall.

We often describe it as helping your baby “bloom” — that moment when they open wide, come in close, and settle into a more effective feed.

It doesn’t always require a full change in position. Sometimes a small shift — like how your baby’s head is supported or how close they are to your body — can help everything come together more easily.
