You’ve probably heard the phrase “bend at the knees” when picking up heavy objects… while this is a great tip, there’s a little more to the mechanics to protect the low back and avoid injury.
Set your feet wide, keep the load close to your body, bend at the knees and lower your behind rather than hinging forward at the hips, brace the core, and squeeze the glutes as you come to standing. (Second video demonstrates the accurate form!)
