๐Ÿ–คโค๏ธ๐Ÿ’š Happy Juneteenth from For Us Therapeutics ๐Ÿ’šโค๏ธ๐Ÿ–ค

Juneteenth is more than a celebration of freedom. It is a reminder that liberation is an ongoing journey.

While we honor the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and celebrate the resilience, strength, and brilliance of Black communities, we also recognize that true liberation extends beyond physical freedom. It includes the freedom to heal, to rest, to grieve, to hope, and to thrive.

For generations, many in our communities have carried the weight of trauma, discrimination, systemic barriers, and unspoken pain. Choosing to care for your mental health is not a sign of weakness. It is an act of resistance. It is an act of self determination. It is an act of liberation.

When we seek support, set boundaries, process our experiences, and prioritize our well being, we reclaim parts of ourselves that were never meant to be burdened for so long.

Today, we honor our ancestors by embracing the freedom they fought for and by continuing the work of healing ourselves, our families, and our communities.

May we celebrate Black joy.
May we protect Black peace.
May we invest in Black healing.

Happy Juneteenth.

๐ŸŒŸ Meet the Team Spotlight: Dr. Erica Doe, LGSW, LMSW ๐ŸŒŸ

For Us Therapeutics is proud to highlight Dr. Erica Doe, a compassionate and dedicated therapist serving clients throughout Washington, DC and Maryland.

As a DC native and daughter of Liberian immigrants, Dr. Doe brings a culturally responsive and affirming approach to mental health care. She has extensive experience supporting women, youth, and young adults navigating challenges related to:

โœ… Anxiety
โœ… Depression
โœ… Grief & Loss
โœ… Substance Use Concerns
โœ… Major Life Transitions
โœ… Self-Esteem & Personal Growth

Dr. Doe is passionate about creating safe and creative spaces for individuals who spend so much time caring for others that they often neglect themselves. She specializes in helping clients find their voice, embrace their authentic selves, and build healthier, more fulfilling lives.

Her therapeutic style is integrative, culturally sensitive, and tailored to each individualโ€™s needs. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, insight-oriented approaches, and creative interventions, Dr. Doe partners with clients on their journey toward healing and growth.

๐ŸŽ“ Dr. Doe earned her Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies with an emphasis in Sociology from Columbia University and her Master of Social Work from Syracuse University. She is currently earning her doctoral degree in Public Health at Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.

At For Us Therapeutics, we believe everyone deserves a supportive, nonjudgmental space to cry, release, discover, rediscover, and heal. Dr. Doe is honored to help create that space for every client she serves.

June is Menโ€™s Health Month and we want to remind Black men that taking care of your health is not weakness. It is wisdom. It is responsibility. It is legacy.

Too often, Black men are expected to push through, stay silent, and carry everything alone. But your physical health matters. Your mental health matters. Your peace matters.

This month, we encourage you to get checked, stay active, talk to someone, build your support system, and take your wellness seriously.

Strong men. Strong families. Strong communities.

For Us Therapeutics is here to support you.

๐ŸŒˆ Happy Pride Month from For Us Therapeutics! ๐ŸŒˆ

At For Us Therapeutics, we believe healing must be affirming, culturally responsive, and rooted in love, justice, and community.

This Pride Month, we honor the beauty, resilience, creativity, and power of Black LGBTQIA+ people and communities. We know that Black q***r and trans people often carry the weight of racism, homophobia, transphobia, family rejection, religious trauma, violence, and silence. While still creating joy, culture, chosen family, and liberation.

You deserve care that sees all of who you are.

โค๏ธ You are seen.
๐Ÿ–ค You are valued.
๐Ÿ’š You are welcome here.
๐ŸŒˆ You are worthy of healing.

This year marks 100 years of honoring Black history.

At For Us Therapeutics, we are unapologetic about where we stand. Black history is not a side note, a trend, or a comfort exercise. It is foundational. It is global. And it is necessary.

In an era of revisionist history and intentional minimization of oppressed communities, celebrating Black history is an act of truth telling. If the truth makes some people uncomfortable, that discomfort is not our responsibility.

We center Black history because it matters to healing, to justice, and to the future of mental health. Always.
