🚛 Heads up, CDL drivers and safety teams! 🚛

FMCSA just issued a temporary waiver to ease the transition into the new National Registry II (NRII) system. Here’s what you need to know:

🗓️ Now through October 12, 2025, drivers can use the paper copy of their Medical Examiner’s Certificate for up to 15 days after it’s issued.

💡 This gives everyone — drivers, carriers, examiners, and state agencies — some breathing room as they work out the NRII kinks.

📄 As long as drivers carry that paper copy with them, they’re covered during the 15-day window while info is processed electronically.

👉 FMCSA is also encouraging medical examiners to continue providing paper copies in addition to the electronic submission.

What to do now:
✔️ Drivers: Keep that paper cert with you for the full 15 days.
✔️ Safety Teams: Adjust your processes to reflect this waiver.
✔️ Everyone: Stay in sync with your examiners and DMVs — good communication prevents compliance issues.
