Service did not end for Quentin Kimble when he retired after 30 years as a Sergeant Major in the Texas Army National Guard. It simply took a new form.

Quentin began his journey with as a volunteer and now serves with the Central Texas Center for Development and Civic Engagement at the Austin VA Outpatient Clinic. For the past nine years, he has helped connect Veterans, families, caregivers, and survivors with programs, resources, and opportunities that improve lives.

From Veterans Stand Downs and benefits seminars to community outreach and youth programs, Quentin’s impact can be felt throughout Central Texas.

His story is a powerful reminder that VA volunteers do more than give their time. They continue a legacy of service that strengthens the lives of every day.

“My reason to get up every day is to continue serving our Veterans, spouses, dependents, caregivers, and survivors with the passion, care, and respect our nation owes them.”

Thank you, Quentin for continuing to answer the call and making a difference for those who served.

💜 WOMEN VETERANS DAY – JUNE 12

Join us to honor the strength, sacrifice, and service of the women who have worn our nation’s uniform with pride.

Women Veterans Day is recognized by the State of Texas to celebrate the incredible contributions of women in the military, past and present.

On June 12, 1948, President Harry S. Truman signed the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act, a historic milestone that opened the door for women to serve as permanent active members of the U.S. Armed Forces. Since then, generations of women have answered the call with courage, resilience, and unwavering dedication.

We invite you to join us for a heartfelt celebration honoring the service, sacrifices, and stories of Texas women .

Eighty two years ago today, thousands of brave Allied servicemen stormed the beaches of Normandy in one of history’s most pivotal moments.

Facing overwhelming odds, they fought with extraordinary courage and sacrifice to defend freedom and help liberate a continent.

Today, we honor their service, remember those who gave their lives, and pledge to never forget the heroes of June 6, 1944.
