Central Counties Services

Central Counties Services Meeting Behavioral & Developmental Needs. Central Counties Services has served over 70,000 people with mental disabilities since 1967.

The Center’s services have fluctuated over time depending funding available. The changing state and federal rules that accompany the Center’s funding have also played a role in determining what services are provided for specified populations in the Center’s five-county catchment area. The activities at the Center tell a story of how the Center was started and continues to meet the complex challeng

es of the times. Much has been accomplished toward moving the Center from its early caretaker role to being a high quality sophisticated treatment agency that proudly serves the citizens in Bell, Coryell, Hamilton, Lampasas, and Milam counties.

Men’s Mental Health Month serves as an important reminder that it is okay for men to talk about their feelings, ask for help, and seek support from friends, family, counselors, or healthcare professionals. It is okay to have bad days, feel vulnerable, cry, struggle with self-doubt, or admit that things are not okay. Seeking help is not a sign of weakness—it is a sign of courage and self-awareness.

Mental health affects everyone, yet many men face challenges when it comes to discussing their emotions, asking for support, and prioritizing their well-being. This month, encourage open conversations, challenge stigma, and remind the men in your life that help is available, and asking for it is okay. 💙

Texas All Abilities Network Sensory Friendly Films

Hello Temple Families,

Texas All Abilities Network is excited to share some wonderful news with our community! 🎬🍿

Beginning this month, Cinemark Temple will be offering Sensory-Friendly Movie Showings every third Saturday of the month!

These special screenings are designed to create a more comfortable and welcoming movie experience for individuals with sensory sensitivities, neurodivergent individuals, and families who benefit from a modified theater environment.

Sensory-Friendly Showings typically feature:
✨ Lower sound levels
✨ Dimmed lighting
✨ A more relaxed atmosphere
✨ Freedom to move around as needed
✨ A welcoming environment for all abilities

We are thrilled to see more inclusive entertainment opportunities becoming available in our area and encourage families to support these showings so they can continue to grow.

The All Ability KidZ Zone will provide:
