This year has already been busy- and I'm feeling so blessed for it! Thank you to all my mamas past and present who have entrusted me with such a sacred experience! I truly feel every birth I attend is a privilege- and I love that no birth is the same! Birth work can be hard and long but it really is a labor of love for me. (Pun intended!) Its rewarding in so many ways and I can't even begin to describe how happy it makes me to assist moms and dads bring precious life into this world. My hope is that parents leave their experience with joy and empowerment!

Alright moms- I don't even know where to begin, but my amazing friend, and personal trainer; with special certifications in prenatal and postpartum fitness has a website that is dedicated to helping women heal and strengthen themselves regardless of where they are in their journey of motherhood. Lauren has tons of great information on her site and has a lot to offer! Here is a great article that helps you figure out if you have Diastasis Recti. I will likely be posting more of her stuff....because it's amazing!!!! And all moms need to know not only why it's important, but how to care for your pregnant and postpartum bodies!

Now that I've been back to birth work a bit, I thought I'd share a little more about what I have to offer. I have always felt that I am privileged to attend your birth. I never want to be in the way of family support, especially the mother's partner. I truly want to better the experience for all that are involved in the birth. Which means you write my role. If you just want words of encouragement and vocal coaching I can do that. If you want more hands on, physical aid such as massage or counter pressure, I can do that. I also bring a variety of ideas to the table of different ways for you to labor. My doula bag is packed with tools such as essential oils, a massage ball, heating pad, and other goodies to help during your birthing time. For moms that have already given birth, you know that when you're in the moment, such ideas may not come to mind but with a doula present- I am able to see the big picture and show the different possibilities that will help comfort you. I love to help the father/partner be as involved as they wish to be. There are times when they want to help but unsure on how. With a little guidance I can demonstrate exactly how to support the mom physically, emotionally, and mentally. A highlight of my job is supporting her with HER choices. If she wants a natural, drug free birth- I'm you're doula! If she wants an epidural- guess what? I'm still your doula! You may ask how do you support a medicated birth? I have found that I am equally needed for both natural and medicated births. For those who are waiting to get their epidural, I can help keep you comfortable with positioning, massage, essential oils, hypnobaby techniques, among many other things! Then when it comes time to push you may need more direction due to being numb- I can gently guide you through the pushing stage of labor.
For a natural approach I can provide the same support through the duration of your birthing time. I will do all that I can to help you achieve your birthing goals and m birth plan to my utmost ability.

Unsure of what kind of birth you want? I am more then happy to discuss all the possibilities and options you have- information is power! I know a vital part my role is to empower a mom-to-be for a positive, joyful birth experience! The mother needs to feel confident, safe, and assured. Regardless of your choices I am ready to be the doula you want and need.

Now that my youngest is getting older I'm ready to get back to birth work- oh how I've missed it! I love what I do and love helping mommies; new and veteran, obtain a birth experience they desire. I've been so blessed with all the births I've been privileged to attend with a huge variety of preferences and experiences- I love each one of my clients and their little ones of course! If anyone ever has a question about my work or pregnancy/birth I am happy to help!

Yesterday I got to be apart of another beautiful birth. A hospital birth was not quite her plan but due to some advice after an ultrasound that was thought to be best. We made do and was still able to have a peaceful, empowering birth experience. My client did beautifully and brought an adorable baby boy into this world. So proud of this mama!!

Today I had the privilege and honor of assisting a client bring in her second child! This was so special to me because I was also there for their first! Thank you so much for trusting me to help with your birth experience- you totally rocked today!! Congrats on your beautiful little girl, Taylor Ann!
