Yesterday, we gathered for the 3rd Annual Six Over 60 Celebration! This year we celebrate our very own Eileen Prose as she was recognized as one of the six outstanding individuals who, at 60 and beyond, continue to lead, uplift, and serve our community with unwavering passion and purpose.

The honorees exemplify the values of perseverance, kindness, and civic responsibility. Their journey reminds us that leadership knows no age limit and that the wisdom gained through experience is one of our greatest community assets.

Eileen has devoted her life to ensuring that every child - and every learner - has the opportunity to succeed.

She became the Vigo County School Corporation’s first learning disabilities instructor before later serving as Assistant Director of Preschool and Elementary Education for the Covered Bridge Special Education District. Her groundbreaking leadership earned statewide recognition when she was named Indiana’s Outstanding Special Education Administrator.

Retirement simply marked the beginning of a new chapter of Service. She became certified to teach English as a second language, helping international students at Indiana State University, while continuing her involvement with numerous educational, civic and cultural organizations.

Her life’s work has been guided by compassion, inclusion, and the belief that education has the power to transform lives and strengthen communities. 

Please join us in congratulating Eileen on this much deserved award and thank her for all she has done and will continue to do for so many and our community. We believe she’s just getting started!

A fantastic finale to our 8-week Summer Series with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Indiana State University! Thank you to everyone who joined us for an important and timely presentation on consumer scam prevention.

Guests and residents heard from the Haute Police Department, white-collar crime investigators, and a U.S. Secret Service Task Force Officer, who shared the latest FBI Internet Crime Report and practical ways to protect ourselves from scams.

Thank you to our incredible presenters and to OLLI for another outstanding summer of lifelong learning. Knowledge truly is one of the best ways to stay safe!

Westminster Village was honored to be a host site for this year's Serve the Valley event, welcoming over 50 volunteers who dedicated their time, energy, and hearts to making a difference.

We were proud to host two meaningful service projects:

🦽 Rolling Clean & Living the Dream – Our residents enjoyed a special wheelchair wash, where volunteers cleaned and shined wheelchairs, helping our residents roll with pride while sharing smiles, conversations, and fellowship along the way.

🧵 ReStitch Wabash Valley – Volunteers worked together to create sleep systems for individuals experiencing homelessness, helping provide warmth, comfort, and dignity to those in need.

A heartfelt thank you to every volunteer who chose to serve at Westminster Village. Your kindness, compassion, and willingness to give back made a lasting impact on both our residents and our community. Together, we are proving that even small acts of service can make a big difference.
