We have a local mama and baby who are currently in need of donated breast milk. If you are a breastfeeding or pumping mama who has extra milk stored and feels led to share, please reach out to me. Even a small donation can be a tremendous blessing during a time of need. 🍼🤱

🤰💜 YOUR DUE DATE IS NOT AN EXPIRATION DATE! 💜🤰

One of my favorite things to remind expecting mamas:

Your EDD is an ESTIMATED Due Date — not an eviction notice. 😂

I like to think of pregnancy as having a “due window,” not one magical day on the calendar.

🌿 37–38+6 weeks: Early Term
🌿 39–40+6 weeks: Full Term
🌿 41–41+6 weeks: Late Term
🌿 42+ weeks: Postterm

And guess what? A LOT of spontaneous labor happens AFTER that estimated due date!

Reaching 40 weeks does not suddenly mean something is wrong, your body has failed, or your baby is “overdue.”

Your baby doesn’t know what date someone circled on a calendar months ago. 😂

As midwives, we look at the WHOLE picture — mama’s health, baby’s movement and wellbeing, blood pressure, growth, fluid when indicated, and individual risk factors — not simply the date on the calendar.

Yes, risks gradually increase as pregnancy continues beyond 41 weeks, and that’s when good monitoring, informed decision-making, and individualized care become especially important.

But 40+1? 40+3? 40+5?

Still pregnant. Still normal. Still within the window. 💜

So when your due date comes and everyone starts texting…

👀 “ANY BABY YET?!”

Turn off the phone, rest, nourish your body, love on your family, and let that sweet baby finish getting ready. 🌿

It’s a window, not an expiration date.

Babies don’t read calendars. 😉💜

Relaxin is just another beautiful and fascinating hormone that leaves us in awe of the amazing things our bodies do, especially during pregnancy.

A word of caution, though…if you regularly participate in physical activity, like yoga, running, or even strength training, be careful not to push yourself too far. If you’ve never achieved say splits and suddenly can, you could be damaging your tissues, which will cause you pain or discomfort.

If you pick up physical fitness during pregnancy, start slow with maybe a daily walk rather than HITT class.

Remember that parental advice from childhood…
“Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.”

No one but YOU gets to determine your nursing journey (well, maybe Baby gets to weigh in somewhat).

Family, ever hear the one about opinions are like rectums? Everyone’s got one! True enough, but other people’s opinions about YOUR breast/chest feeding YOUR BABY need not be a factor.

Start practicing now what you can say when faced with someone chiming in. There’s not one way to do this either. From “Butt out!” to “I appreciate your perspective, and yet I do not agree.” You do you, Boo!

My fur toddlers have not had as much Mama time as they prefer lately and show it with smother cuddles. On National Dog Day, it’s a good reminder that with new bundles of joy, remember those fur babies need some attention too. If not you, then let’s call in the village to throw love around like confetti.

If you’re playing along, yes, somewhere in the last three days, Christina Winton, CPM, LLM Agape Homebirth Services and I had our 💯 birth together.

Mrs. Christina is a Human treasure in sharing her knowledge and heart with our Families as well as with me (Doula Jaimee) and our community.

I have grown as a doula and as a Human through each adventure we have taken with our Familes. Christina doesn’t limit her care to only our clients but shares her wealth with other doulas, midwives, birth-related resources, and our community. She is truly called to birth work and gives her all.

💯 BIRTHS TOGETHER!!! 💜

Today I get to celebrate something pretty incredible… Doula Jaimee Moore Hunter and I have now attended 100 births together!! 🥹💯

When I think about how much has changed over these 100 births, I’m honestly just in awe. Jaimee has been beside me as my birth assistant—and many times pulling double duty as the family’s doula—through some of the biggest seasons of growth in my practice.

She has watched Agape grow from a year where I served just 9 families… to this year, where I’ll serve over 50!!! 🤯

And through that growth, she has shown up.

Middle-of-the-night phone calls. Long labors. Quick births. Waterbirths. Hospital transfers. Driving all over the Four States area. Holding a mama’s hand one minute and helping me set up equipment the next. Laughing until we cry, praying together, celebrating beautiful victories, and sometimes carrying the weight of really hard days.

There is something so special about the relationship between a midwife and a doula when they truly understand and respect each other’s roles. We aren’t competing—we’re working together for the same goal: supporting families, protecting the birth space, and helping moms feel safe, heard, informed, and loved.

Doulas and midwives can make one AMAZING team. 💜

Jaimee, thank you for being my birth assistant, my doula teammate, my sounding board, and most importantly, my friend. Thank you for believing in this calling and growing right alongside me.

100 births together is a whole lot of babies, mamas, middle-of-the-night adventures, snacks, prayers, laughs, tears, and memories. 😂🥹

I truly believe God places the right people in our lives for the seasons He calls us into, and I’m so thankful He placed you in mine.

Here’s to birth #100 together… and all the sweet babies still to come! 💯👶🏼💜
