Hospice of Texarkana is asking the community for individually wrapped snacks and canned/bottled drinks for families of patients in our Inpatient Care Center.

We at Hospice of Texarkana not only care for our patients, but we recognize the strain on their caregivers. As a small respite, we are able to provide snacks and drinks to those caregivers who have a loved one in our care center. This may seem like a small gesture, but it allows our family members and loved ones to remain at the care center without having to leave to grab a drink or snack. We have a variety of snacks ranging from high protein and healthy to a sweet indulgence.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated and utilized, said Nancy Thomas, director of supportive care services at Hospice of Texarkana.

Donations can be dropped off at Hospice of Texarkana, 2407 Galleria Oaks Drive, Texarkana, TX.

Needed snacks include individually wrapped cookies, small bags of chips or Goldfish, fruits, nuts, trail mix or items shown in picture.

For more information about how to help, call 903-794-4263.

🇺🇸ED SHUFFIELD - US NAVY VETERAN🇺🇸

Mr. Ed Shuffield was recently honored in the Hospice of Texarkana Care Center for his four years of military service in the U.S. Navy during the Viet Nam war. As part of the ceremony, he was given a certificate of appreciation and lapel pin. Volunteer Glen Willyard, who is also a Navy Veteran, assisted with the pinning ceremony. Mr. Shuffield’s room was full of family and staff members for the occasion. We are so thankful for Mr. Shuffield and his service to our country.
