Founded in 1982 by Gladys Stephenson, The Independence Village provides safe, affordable housing.

The Independence Village offers assisted living in a family setting to adults with intellectual and/or physical disabilities. Our Vision is to help our Residents achieve their VOICE and to experience the highest level of personal independence possible.

With the Texas summer heat in full swing, making sure our residents are protected from the sun is so important. Your thoughtful donation will help them stay safe, comfortable, and focused on having fun while enjoying this wonderful outdoor activity.

🎉❤️ Happy 53rd Anniversary, Carolyn & Kenneth G. Rose! ❤️🎉

Today we're celebrating not only 53 years of marriage, love, and commitment, but also two very special people who mean so much to our Independence Village family.

Carolyn, thank you for all the time, energy, kindness, and support you give to our residents and staff. Your willingness to jump in, lend a hand, and care for others never goes unnoticed. We are so grateful for everything you do and for the love you share with our community.

And Kenneth, thank you for sharing Carolyn with us! 😄 We know we borrow a lot of her time, and we appreciate your patience and support more than you know. Behind every great volunteer is an understanding spouse, and we're thankful for you too!

Thank you to the Texas City Housing Authority for sponsoring a fun bowling day for our residents! 🎳

Everyone had such a great time bowling with your volunteers and loved the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends. Your kindness and support mean so much to our residents and staff.

We truly appreciate everything you do for our community and hope to do it again soon!
