Another group of outstanding veterinary student externs have wrapped up their time with us!

We were pleased to welcome Janessa Rice and Cameron Nau for two weeks, along with Jaycie Rau and Christian Caputo for one week. Janessa and Christian joined us from Oklahoma State University, Cameron from The Ohio State University, and Jaycie from Kansas State University.

Throughout their time with us, all four brought great attitudes, sharp minds, and a genuine eagerness to learn. They were inquisitive, intelligent, and quick to absorb new information, making the most of every opportunity to expand their knowledge and experience.

It is always rewarding to play a small part in the growth of the next generation of veterinarians, and we are grateful these students chose to spend part of their training with us. We look forward to following their journeys and seeing all they accomplish in the future!

Thank you, Janessa, Cameron, Jaycie, and Christian—we wish you all the very best! 🐴🩺

Another month and another four great externs!

We had the pleasure of hosting John Wofford (Texas Tech), Brandi Olsen (Washington State), Jessica Dangelmayr (Texas Tech), and Caitlynn Stapleford (Kansas State) during the beginning and middle of July.

These four brought great attitudes, enthusiasm, and a genuine eagerness to learn. Throughout their externship, they embraced every opportunity to expand their knowledge, ask thoughtful questions, and gain hands-on experience in equine veterinary medicine.

We love welcoming students who are passionate about the profession and committed to the health and well-being of the horse. Thank you, John, Brandi, Jessica, and Caitlynn, for all of your hard work and for being such a wonderful group to have at the clinic. We wish you all the best as you continue your veterinary journeys—we can’t wait to see all you’ll accomplish!

6 weeks. 4 veterinary students. One incredible experience.

Over the past six weeks, we’ve had the pleasure of working alongside four outstanding Texas Tech veterinary students: Jacee Barr, Jenna Davis, Presley Pence, and Lucile Lemonnier.

Each of them has demonstrated the same remarkable drive, passion, and dedication to the veterinary profession and the well-being of the horse. While they each bring a fresh perspective and unique strengths, they all share a genuine eagerness to learn, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to jump in wherever they’re needed.

Watching their confidence and clinical skills knowledge grow has been incredibly rewarding. We hope their time with us has been just as meaningful as it has been for our team.

Thank you, Jacee, Jenna, Presley, and Lucile, for your hard work, curiosity, and positive attitudes. We know you’ll all make an incredible impact on the future of equine veterinary medicine, and we’re excited to see where your journeys take you.

Best of luck as you continue your veterinary education—we’ll be cheering you on every step of the way!

In the past month, we were blessed enough to have these four vet students come and spend some time with us!

Chris Young, Diego Hernandez, and Elizabeth Gnitka all came from Texas Tech. They represented their school very well with their desire to learn, their drive to become the best, and increasing knowledge.

Faith Howe has been a staple for the past few summers and came from Colorado State with new knowledge but the same want to she’s always had that drives her to be exceptional.

All four of these vet students have bright futures ahead and we cannot wait to follow along to see where they end up! We know they will do great things!

Throughout the summer we will be showcasing veterinary students and veterinary technician students who choose to spend externships with us. Our first vet tech student who spent an amazing 8 weeks with us was Sam. Thank you for your hard work and amazing attitude! We can’t wait to see what your future holds!
