Father’s Day at The Methodist Home for Nursing + Rehabilitation was filled with smiles, laughter, music, conversation, and meaningful moments shared together.
Celebrations like these are about so much more than a holiday on the calendar.

They are an opportunity to honor the fathers, grandfathers, husbands, brothers, mentors, and friends who have shaped the lives of so many around them.

Every resident carries a lifetime of stories, wisdom, love, and memories, and we are grateful to celebrate the men in our community and the impact they continue to have on the people who love them.

From time spent together with staff and loved ones to moments of joy shared throughout the day, it was a beautiful reminder that connection, recognition, and community matter at every stage of life.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this Father’s Day celebration so special for our residents. We are honored to share these moments together and to continue creating experiences that bring comfort, joy, and a sense of home to our community.

Preparing for a joint replacement? Recovery starts before you ever leave the hospital.

A successful joint replacement is about more than the procedure itself. The weeks that follow play a critical role in rebuilding strength, improving mobility, and helping you return to the activities that matter most.

At The Methodist Home for Nursing + Rehabilitation, our Short-Term Rehabilitation Program provides the focused therapy and support many orthopedic patients need after knee, hip, or other joint replacement surgeries.

Through personalized physical and occupational therapy, patients work on improving balance, rebuilding confidence, managing pain, and practicing the everyday movements needed for a safe return home.

Our interdisciplinary team works closely with each patient to create an individualized recovery plan designed to maximize independence and support long-term success.

Every step matters. Every milestone matters. And having the right support can make all the difference.

Some of the most important moments in a day don’t happen during therapy sessions, meals, or activities.

They happen when a familiar face walks through the door.
A visit from a daughter, son, spouse, grandchild, or friend brings something no treatment plan can provide: the comfort of being known, loved, and remembered.

These connections help reduce feelings of loneliness, support emotional well-being, and remind residents that they remain deeply connected to the people and relationships that matter most.

The conversations may be simple. The smiles may be quiet. But the impact is profound.

At The Methodist Home for Nursing + Rehabilitation, we believe family involvement is an important part of creating a community where residents feel supported, valued, and at home.

Because time together is never just time together. It’s love in action.

Creating a safe and supportive home environment is one of the most meaningful ways we can help older adults maintain their independence and quality of life as they age.

Sometimes, the smallest adjustments can make the biggest impact. Better lighting, secure handrails, removing tripping hazards, improving bathroom safety, or simply creating routines that feel manageable and comfortable can help reduce fall risks and bring more confidence to everyday living.

But safety at home is about more than preventing accidents. It’s about preserving dignity, encouraging mobility, supporting emotional well-being, and helping seniors continue engaging in the daily moments that make life feel familiar and fulfilling.

For many families, navigating these changes can feel overwhelming at first. Knowing where to start, what modifications matter most, or when additional support may be needed is not always easy.

That’s why education, rehabilitation services, and ongoing guidance can play such an important role in helping seniors remain safe, active, and connected in their own homes for as long as possible.

🏡 In our latest blog post, we’re sharing practical tips and simple ways to create a safer home environment for older adults while supporting long-term independence and peace of mind for the whole family.

Great care is never the work of just one person. It takes a team.
At The Methodist Home for Nursing + Rehabilitation, every resident’s care is supported by people from different backgrounds, specialties, and experiences all working together toward the same goal: helping our residents feel safe, respected, supported, and cared for every single day.

From nursing and rehabilitation to dietary services, social work, activities, housekeeping, administration, and beyond, each role matters deeply.

Behind every recovery milestone, every comforting conversation, every smile in the hallway, and every moment of reassurance for families is a team of people showing up with compassion, skill, and commitment.

What makes a place like the Methodist Home special is not only the clinical care provided, but the collaboration, trust, and humanity shared between staff members who genuinely care about the people they serve and about one another.

We are incredibly grateful for the teamwork that helps make our community feel like home.

Sometimes the smallest interactions can bring the biggest sense of comfort. 💛

Moments like these are about so much more than simply spending time with a pet. Animal interaction can help reduce stress, ease feelings of loneliness, stimulate memory and conversation, and bring a calming sense of connection for older adults.

For many residents, caring for or engaging with animals also brings back familiar routines, meaningful memories, and a sense of joy that feels deeply grounding.

At The Methodist Home for Nursing + Rehabilitation, we believe emotional well-being matters just as much as physical care. Creating opportunities for residents to engage, nurture, smile, and connect with the world around them is an important part of helping our community feel at home.

Sometimes healing looks like therapy sessions and rehabilitation and sometimes it looks like a quiet moment shared with a furry friend.
