Warmer weather means more time spent in and around the water. As pools, beaches, and lakes begin to reopen for the season, take a few simple steps to help keep you and your family safe while enjoying spring and summer fun.

✔ Never swim alone — always bring a buddy
✔ Designate a “water watcher” to actively supervise children near water—best practice is to swim only when a lifeguard is on duty
✔ Wear a life jacket if you or your child are not strong swimmers
✔ Learn CPR and basic water safety skills

One of the best ways to stay safe in the water is to learn how to swim. Swim lessons can help people of all ages build confidence, develop important safety skills, and enjoy the water more safely.

7 effective strategies toward dry nights. Why kids wet the bed and some ways to help.

Strategy #3. Relax — and blow out — while urinating. Children don’t always empty their bladder completely when they urinate. To help them learn, parents can encourage them to relax, take their time, and whistle or pretend to blow out candles on a birthday cake. Both actions put gentle action on the bladder and often do the trick.

Thinking About Adding A New Supplement?

It’s important to understand how it fits into your daily routine—not just what it claims to do.

Some supplements—like vitamins, minerals, herbal products, or powdered mixes—can interact with medications you’re already taking, affect how other nutrients are absorbed depending on when and how they’re taken, and may contain amounts of nutrients or other ingredients that may not be appropriate for every individual’s medical conditions. Even common vitamins aren’t one-size-fits-all.

If you’re considering something new, speak with your doctor first to make sure it’s right for you.

Understanding blood cancer risk factors and warning signs.

Most blood cancers are caused by a combination of genetic and environmental factors, although some are directly linked to genetic conditions.

Blood cancers can be detected through blood tests, physical exams, imaging tests, and biopsies. Symptoms of blood cancer vary by disease type, and many blood cancers have no obvious symptoms in their earliest stages.

Orthodontic Care: When is time for braces?

It’s one of the most common questions parents ask—and the answer might be earlier than you think. Experts recommend that children have their first orthodontic evaluation by age 7.

An early evaluation helps assess how the teeth and jaw are developing—and whether treatment may be needed later.

From there, care may look different for every child:
• Early (treatment
• Monitoring over time
• Braces during the teen years

The goal isn’t always to start treatment early—it’s to start at the right time. If you’re unsure, an evaluation can help you plan ahead.

Our team of pediatric dentists, cosmetic dentists, orthodontists and oral surgeons are ready to meet all your dental care needs.

For A Healthier Salad, Go Beyond Lettuce.

“I’ll just have a salad” is often the go-to order for anyone trying to eat healthy—but not all salads are created equal. The next time you’re ordering lunch, look beyond the lettuce to make your meal more nutritious and satisfying.
- Add high-fiber, plant-based proteins like lentils and beans to keep you feeling full
- Give it healthy fats like avocado or an olive oil dressing
- Top it with a few croutons for that satisfying crunch

A balanced salad can help keep you feel fuller longer while delivering the nutrients your body needs. In other words: make that salad worth it.
