💪 WHEY PROTEIN, MUSCLE GROWTH, KIDNEY STONES, MACULAR DEGENERATION & MORE!
Another information-packed episode of Ask the Doctor with Dr. Michael Lange and Roger P. Schulman!
🥛 We kicked off the show discussing the NEW Fortifeye Super Protein — a grass-fed, non-denatured whey protein concentrate in an all-new delicious vanilla flavor.
Whey protein is one of the highest-quality protein sources available and is naturally rich in essential amino acids, especially leucine. We discussed how whey can strongly support muscle protein synthesis and important muscle-related pathways involving mTOR, IGF-1 and myostatin regulation.
This becomes especially important as we get older and begin fighting the gradual loss of muscle mass known as sarcopenia.
🔬 Roger reviewed newer research involving whey protein and cholesterol/metabolic health in overweight adults, along with studies looking at the benefits of combining whey protein with collagen peptides.
I also discussed combining Fortifeye Super Protein with Fortifeye Fit Protein for a more comprehensive approach to muscle, connective tissue, recovery and performance nutrition.
🪨 We then moved into oxalates and kidney stones. People prone to calcium-oxalate kidney stones may want to be especially careful with some extremely high-oxalate foods, including spinach, almonds and beets. Hydration and individualized dietary recommendations are also extremely important.
👁️ We had a great discussion about age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and the foods and nutrients that can help support the macula and retina.
I discussed nutritional strategies for macular health and Fortifeye Next Gen Macular Defense, formulated specifically to provide comprehensive nutritional support for the aging retina and macula.
🌱 We also highlighted Fortifeye Organic Blue Green Superfood and our special savings when purchasing the three-jar bundle.
☎️ Finally, we took a live call from a potential patient dealing with Bell’s palsy and discussed the importance of protecting the eye when eyelid closure is compromised, along with appropriate medical and eye-care evaluation.
Another great show covering muscle health, nutrition, eye health and longevity!
