⚡️ Numbness or tingling in your arm or leg?

The place where you feel the symptom isn't always where the problem is coming from.

Nerves travel from your spine throughout your body. When a nerve becomes irritated or compressed, it can cause symptoms along the path of that nerve—including pain, numbness, tingling, burning, or even weakness.

For example, irritation of a nerve in the neck can sometimes cause symptoms into the shoulder, arm, or hand. Similarly, irritation of nerves in the lower back can cause symptoms that travel into the hip, buttock, leg, or foot.

That’s why simply treating the area that hurts may not tell the whole story.

If you’re experiencing persistent or recurring numbness, tingling, or pain that travels into an arm or leg, it’s worth finding out where those symptoms may be coming from. 🩻

Your symptoms are giving you information. Don't ignore them.

🚗 “That car accident was 20 years ago… there’s no way it could be related to my pain now.”

Think again.

Maybe you were in an accident years ago and experienced some neck or back pain afterward, but it wasn't severe enough to stop you from living your life. Eventually, the pain became something you just learned to live with—or it went away completely.

Years later, you may start experiencing more frequent pain, stiffness, numbness, tingling, or weakness and wonder, “Where did this come from?”

An old injury doesn't automatically mean it caused your current symptoms. However, an injury can be one piece of the puzzle. Over time, normal aging, repetitive stress, physical demands, and additional injuries can contribute to changes in the spine, including disc degeneration, bulging discs, and herniation.

That’s why your history matters. What happened to your spine years ago may be important when trying to understand what’s happening today.

If you’ve been told to “just live with it” or you've learned to ignore your pain, it may be time to find out what's actually going on. 🩻

📲 Don’t ignore the signs your body is giving you.

🦵 Ever wonder why you can feel pain, numbness, or tingling all the way down your leg?

Sometimes, the problem isn’t actually in your leg.

Certain conditions involving the spine and discs can irritate or put pressure on the nerves that travel from your lower back into your legs. When that happens, you may feel symptoms somewhere along that nerve pathway—such as your hip, buttock, thigh, calf, or foot.

And here's the part many people don't realize: you may have these symptoms with back pain… or you may not have much back pain at all.

A disc problem or other spinal condition can sometimes make itself known through symptoms traveling down the leg rather than pain directly in the back.

If you've been experiencing that “something just doesn't feel right” sensation in your leg, especially if it's accompanied by numbness, tingling, burning, or weakness, don't ignore it.

Sometimes the place you feel the problem isn't where the problem starts. 🩻

🌱 The weekend warrior strikes again…

You spend all week sitting at a desk, driving, or taking it easy — then Saturday comes and it’s time to mow the lawn, pull weeds, move mulch, trim trees, and tackle every project you’ve been putting off.

The combination of bending, lifting, twisting, and repetitive movements can put a lot of stress on your spine and muscles.

A little soreness is normal.

Pain that stops you from moving, sleeping, or enjoying your week is not something you should ignore.

Take care of your body the same way you take care of your home. 🌱

If yard work has your back feeling worse than it should, we’re here to help you get moving again.

⚽ Why are knee injuries so common in sports?

It’s not just about one bad step.

Sports like soccer, basketball, football, and volleyball require your knees to handle:
🏃 Sprinting
↔️ Quick changes in direction
⬆️ Jumping and landing
🔄 Pivoting and twisting

Your knee is built to move — but it relies on the strength, mobility, and coordination of the muscles around it to stay protected.

When one part of the system isn’t working properly, the knee often takes the extra stress.

That’s why prevention, proper movement, and addressing problems early are so important for athletes at every level.

Keep your body performing the way your sport demands. 💪

🍎 Teachers, your job is harder on your body than you think.

Every day you’re:
📚 Standing for hours
📝 Leaning over desks
💻 Looking down at computers and paperwork
📦 Carrying supplies
🪑 Sitting in positions that aren’t always spine-friendly

Over time, these repetitive movements can contribute to neck pain, shoulder tension, back pain, headaches, and stiffness.

At Village Chiropractic, we help teachers address the aches and discomfort that come from the demands of their daily routine.

Through chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue therapy, laser therapy, shockwave therapy, and other treatment options, we help improve mobility, reduce discomfort, and keep you moving throughout the school year.

We know teachers have busy schedules — that’s why we offer evening appointments so you can come in after the school day is over.

You spend all day taking care of your students — make sure you’re taking care of yourself too. 🍎

📍 Don’t let pain become part of your daily routine. Schedule your visit and start the school year feeling your best.
