As RSV cases rise, we want to arm our families with the best prevention strategies to keep their little ones safe. Here are some tips:

🧼 Wash hands frequently and thoroughly
🤧 Avoid close contact with anyone who is sick
👶 Keep newborns and high-risk infants away from crowds and public spaces
🪟 Ensure good ventilation indoors
🧽 Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces regularly

Remember, prevention is key! 🙌 If you notice any signs of respiratory distress, high fever, extreme fatigue, or dehydration, don't hesitate to give us a call.

It's that time of year again - flu shot season! 📅💉 We know shots can be tough for kids (and parents 😅), but our experienced nurses are here to make it a breeze.

The AAP recommends the flu vaccine for everyone 6 months and up as the best defense against the flu.

RSV season is rapidly approaching, and here in South Louisiana it typically revs up around the beginning of October. 🩺

In older children and adults, symptoms are more like a bad chest cold, but younger infants, especially newborns, are at risk for more serious complications such as pneumonia, sepsis, respiratory distress, and even apnea.

The American Academy of Pediatrics strongly recommends a protective antibody shot called NIRSEMIVAB for all infants less than eight months of age entering the RSV season if Mom didn't receive the RSV vaccine during pregnancy.

We're already seeing an uptick in flu cases in the office, so NOW is the time to get your flu shot to prevent serious complications, such as pneumonia, respiratory distress, and/or hospitalization.

The AAP recommends the flu shot for all children six months and older, especially those with underlying issues, such as asthma, congenital heart disease, prematurity, and chromosomal syndromes. ✨🛡️
