Please join us in congratulating our Sunflower Award winner, Bailee Massey! 🌻

Bailee is an occupational therapist in our Physical Therapy Department. Her optimism, excellence in all that she does, and commitment to her patients embody the spirit of the Sunflower Award. ✨

One of her patients shared: "I feel like she discovered that I had a significant problem by listening and [providing] expertise... She further assisted me and taught me and encouraged me when I was ready to give up. She did plenty of things to assist me that was not in her job description, I'm sure. She was positive, uplifting, obviously very caring, a wonderful listener, very understanding demeanor, and above all did a great job helping me and arming me with the education and tools to continue with therapy at home. Hats off to Bailee!"

We're proud to celebrate a historic milestone at Upson Regional Medical Center: the first gynecologic robotic-assisted surgery ever performed at URMC happened today! 🏥

The procedure was successfully led by our new OB/GYN physicians, Dr. Williams-Hernández and Dr. Adimora-Okolie, marking not only a first for our hospital, but also their first robotic-assisted surgery performed as members of the URMC medical staff.

This achievement reflects URMC's continued commitment to expanding advanced women's healthcare services close to home. Robotic-assisted surgery offers several benefits to patients, including smaller incisions, less pain, lower risk of complications, shorter hospital stays, and faster recovery times.

Congratulations to our DAISY Team Award recipients: the nurses and techs of Med/Surg! 💙💚

The DAISY Team Award celebrates nurse-led teams who work together to provide compassionate care for patients and their families.

Med/Surg was nominated by a patient's family member who shared, "I would like to nominate all of the nurses and techs that took care of my mother on the third floor surgical unit. Everyone was absolutely outstanding. Patient care was the very best that anyone could ever ask for. The admitting nurse on the floor was so patient and kind and answered all of my questions."

Our hospital welcomed the The University of Georgia School of Medicine's inaugural Class of 2030 this week! 🩺

These future physicians visited us on the first day of their Georgia Road Trip, a statewide tour of hospitals where they met healthcare administrators, physicians, and care teams across Georgia.

During their visit, students met CEO Dan Owens, cardiologist Dr. Adeniyi, and several members of our healthcare team while touring our hospital and learning about healthcare in rural communities.

We wish all 64 students a bright future and hope to see them serving communities across Georgia, including ours, in the years to come. ✨ Special thanks to the Archway Partnership for including us on their statewide bus tour!
