🌿🍃 Week 8 Recap: Nature Week 🍃

We wrapped up an amazing summer with a week full of nature, creativity, and exploration! 🌞💚

Our campers enjoyed nature scavenger hunts, created beautiful leaf and flower art, completed animal and dinosaur puzzles, and explored the outdoors while building teamwork, creativity, and fine motor skills.

As we close out another incredible summer camp season, we’re so proud of our campers for their growth, curiosity, and confidence throughout the past eight weeks. Thank you to our families, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners for making this unforgettable summer possible!

🦖⏳ Week 7: Time Travelers! 🏰👑

This week our campers traveled through time on adventures filled with creativity, imagination, and discovery!

From the age of the dinosaurs to the days of castles and ancient Egypt, campers brought history to life by creating dinosaurs, designing castles, & crafting their own Egyptian headbands. Every project sparked curiosity, encouraged imaginative exploration, and helped us practice using our fine motor skills!

We also enjoyed a relaxing visit to the movies. We love community outings! 🍿

Whether we were stomping with 🦕 , imagining life in a 🏰 , or exploring the wonders of ancient civilizations, Time Travelers Week reminded us that learning at Step N’ Stones is always an adventure!

🐾❤️ A Very Special Visitor at Camp! ❤️🐾

Today our campers had the sweetest visit w/ Mrs. Kha and AJ, her amazing therapy dog!

AJ 🐶 stole everyone’s hearts in her adorable outfit and showed off what a very good girl she is by performing tricks, accepting gentle pets, and soaking up all the love from our campers. From big smiles and belly laughs to quiet moments of connection, it was beautiful to watch the joy and confidence her visit brought.

“Pet day” is a repeated request from our students & this one was extra special. Animals can nurture social skills, communication, confidence, emotional regulation, and so much more—all while making learning feel like pure fun.

We are so excited that AJ will be visiting throughout the upcoming school year. We already know she’s going to become a favorite part of our students’ month!

Thank you, Mrs. Kha and AJ, for sharing your time, your talents, and connection with our Step N’ Stones family. We can’t wait to see you both again soon! 💙🐕✨

🩺 Community Partnerships That Inspire ❤️

We had such a wonderful visit from the amazing PCOM South Georgia medical student friends & their professor today! They planned hands-on learning stations that sparked our students curiosity, got them focused in, & having a whole lot of fun!

Our campers listened to a ‘stuffie’ patient’s heartbeat with kid-sized stethoscopes (which our guests generously gifted for them to keep—thank you!), tested their steady hands & persistance with a game of Operation, & got creative painting colorful hearts. 💙💜❤️💛🩷🧡

One of the sweetest parts of the day was hearing our students proudly calling themselves and each other “Dr.” as they practiced using their new tools. 🩺🥹

Experiences like these spark curiosity, build confidence, and make learning come alive. Thank you to PCOM for investing your time, kindness, and connection with our students. We are so grateful for your partnership and can’t wait to have you back soon.

🦸🏽‍♀️💥 Camp Week 6 Recap: We truly loved
Superhero Week! 💥🦸‍♂️

Our campers discovered that the greatest superpowers come from within! 💙 🧩 💥

This week we created mini superhero puppets, designed and wore our very own superhero capes, & let our imaginations soar. The moment those capes went on, our campers truly became their superhero selves—full of confidence, courage, kindness, and joy!

We also enjoyed pool adventures, creative projects, & plenty of opportunities to play, laugh, & of course made more unforgettable summer memories together.

At Step N’ Stones, we believe every child has unique strengths and gifts to share with the world. This week was a beautiful reminder that sometimes all it takes is a cape, a little imagination, & a supportive community to help those superpowers shine. ✨

This upcoming school year, Step N’ Stones Academy is launching an exciting new English Language Arts (ELA) curriculum, and we’re so excited about what it will mean for our students.

📚 One of the things we love most about this curriculum is that it uses engaging, meaningful books that help children connect with reading in authentic ways. For our neurodiverse learners, having the right books makes all the difference. Stories become opportunities to build language, comprehension, confidence, imagination, & meaningful conversations.

Camp Week 5: Red, White & You! 💙🤍❤️

What a fun week celebrating creativity, friendship, & some of our favorite summertime traditions!

Our campers designed festive windsocks, created adorable patriotic pups, and proudly crafted their own American flags while learning through hands-on activities & imaginative play.

We also enjoyed a trip to the movie theater & cooled off with a classic 4th of July treat—Bomb Pops! 🍧 Sometimes the sweetest memories are the simplest ones. As one of our junior camp counselors said: “no better summer activity than riding bikes & eating popsicles!” Watching our campers laugh together while enjoying the week was so much fun! 🇺🇸

Thank you for supporting another week filled with smiles, connection, creativity, & unforgettable memories for our kiddos. We can’t wait to see what adventures next week brings.

🌊 SPOT Ocean Adventure! 🪼

This week in SPOT, we dove into an ocean-themed session full of creativity and fun! Kiddos explored sea life while strengthening fine motor skills by creating colorful jellyfish using pipe cleaners and beads. It was a fun, hands-on activity that encouraged creativity, focus, and self-expression while bringing our underwater friends to life! 🐠💙
