HOLLY HILL REMEMBERS: 25 YEARS LATER

Keeping Memories Alive has always been at the heart of what we do here at Holly Hill. This September, we invite our community to come together as we remember one of the most defining moments in our nation’s history.

Holly Hill Memorial Park, in partnership with Sechrest-Davis Funerals and Cremations - Thomasville, invites you to join us for a special 25th Anniversary September 11th Memorial Service.

This meaningful community-wide service will feature special guests, patriotic music, reflections, a moment of silence at 8:46am, a dove release, and other moments of remembrance as we honor the lives lost and the heroes who answered the call on September 11, 2001.

Twenty-five years later, we remember the 2,977 lives taken too soon. We remember the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, military members, and everyday Americans who demonstrated extraordinary courage. And we remember how our nation came together in the days that followed.

25 years have passed. The memories remain.

Join us at the Holly Hill Singing Tower as we Keep Memories Alive and honor the lives, courage, sacrifice, and unity that must never be forgotten.

We Remember. We Honor. We Will Never Forget.

Everyone in our community is invited.

We love when Garrett's Towing & Recovery, LLC visits us here at Holly Hill!

Megan even got a little hands-on experience with a tutorial on how to operate the truck!

We can’t thank Garrett’s Towing & Recovery enough for participating in our business challenge and contributing $200 to help stock the shelves at Fairgrove Family Resource Center. Your generosity is making a real difference in our community, and we’re grateful to have local businesses like you step up and help!

Thank you, Garrett’s Towing & Recovery! ❤️

Our community continues to be a shining light to those in need! This morning, (L-R) Megan Anderson, Eric Anderson and Jamal Tahirkheli of Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery and Holly Hill Cares, brought in 283 pounds of food that will help us tremendously in feeding precious families. Holly Hill held a food drive, then an additional $500 of groceries were added thanks to a $250 grant from Food Lion and a $250 match by Holly Hill Cares.
Thank you for your support of FGFRC, and a big thanks on behalf of our families that will benefit from your generosity!

We’re calling on our local business community to help us continue making a difference for families right here in Davidson County!

As part of our food drive benefiting Fairgrove Family Resource Center, Holly Hill is challenging Colonial Grind to raise a $100 toward the food drive.

And we’re not stopping there!

Once they accept the challenge, Colonial Grind can challenge another local business to raise $100, keeping the momentum going from one business to the next.

Our goal is simple: Get local businesses involved, raise more support for FFRC, and help make sure local families have access to the food they need.

Colonial Grind….The challenge is yours!

We’re so grateful for the generosity of our community! ❤️

Over the past few weeks, so many of you have contributed to our food drive benefiting Fairgrove Family Resource Center, helping us collect much-needed food for local families.

Thanks to Food Lion and Holly Hill Cares, our 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we’re able to build on the generosity of our community and provide even more support to FFRC.

Your contributions will be delivered on Monday morning, where they’ll help stock the shelves and provide food for families in our community.

Thank you to everyone who donated, shared our food drive, or helped spread the word. We’re proud to be part of a community that continues to look out for one another.

This is not the kind of post we ever want to make.

Yesterday, one of our ducks ended up with a fish hook caught in her mouth. Thankfully, she is receiving medical treatment, and we are hopeful she will make a full recovery.

But this is exactly why fishing is absolutely NOT permitted at Holly Hill. No exceptions. Zero tolerance.

Our pond isn't here for fishing, but for our wildlife and for the families who come to enjoy them.

We love seeing parents bring their children to Holly Hill to feed the ducks, watch the swans, walk around the pond, and simply enjoy being outside together. We love watching a child's face light up when a duck waddles over looking for a snack. Those are the moments that make Holly Hill special.

And when someone chooses to fish here, it doesn't just put our wildlife at risk. It threatens the experience for everyone else. A child should be able to walk up to the pond without having to worry about stepping on a discarded hook or seeing fishing line tangled around an animal.

We know that the vast majority of our community respects Holly Hill and cares deeply about the animals that call our park home. We are asking everyone to help us protect them.

If you see someone fishing at Holly Hill, please let a member of our staff know immediately. This isn't about being difficult or taking away someone's enjoyment. It's about making sure that our guests can continue to experience the simple joy of feeding a duck, watching a swan glide across the water, or hearing a child laugh when one of our animals comes looking for attention.

Protecting our wildlife matters. What may seem like a small or harmless action can have heartbreaking consequences for an animal....And it can also break the hearts of the families and children who have grown attached to these animals and look forward to seeing them every time they visit Holly Hill.

Megan was honored to represent Holly Hill this morning as she spoke with the U.S. Military Women Veterans - Triad Chapter.

Megan had the opportunity to share more about Holly Hill, the work we do to serve families in our community, and the mission of Holly Hill Cares, our nonprofit dedicated to making a difference in the lives of our First Responders and local children.

We’re especially grateful for the opportunity to spend time with a group of women who have served our country, as well as the women who have stood beside and supported their military spouses throughout their service. That kind of sacrifice, strength, and commitment deserves to be recognized and appreciated.

Thank you for welcoming Megan and for everything you have done, and continue to do, for our military families and our community. 🇺🇸

A special thank you to one of our visitors who took a moment to capture this and send it our way!

We love seeing Holly Hill through the eyes of those who visit our park, and this video of two deer enjoying a little playtime is a perfect example of the unexpected moments that make Holly Hill so special.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful moment with us!
