On August 15, we gathered at Mary Health of the Sick for a very special celebration of the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and 175th Jubilee Year of the Servants of Mary. 💙🤍
The mission of the Servants of Mary began in Spain with Saint María Soledad Torres Acosta, who founded the congregation Sister Servants of Mary on August 15, 1851 on the Feast of the Assumption of Mary. For 175 years, the Sisters have carried forward a mission of loving service and compassionate care for those who are sick and in need.
At Mary Health, our celebration began with a beautiful procession throughout the facility. Sisters, residents, family members, and staff came together as we carried the statue of Our Blessed Mother Mary through each room. Along the way, we prayed and sang together, bringing the presence of Mary and our faith to our residents throughout the facility. 🙏🌹
The procession was followed by a beautiful Holy Mass, giving us the opportunity to come together in prayer and give thanks for the many blessings then we had a reception with delicious food.
It was a beautiful day filled with faith, prayer, gratitude, love, and community a reminder of the legacy of the Servants of Mary and the mission that continues here at Mary Health of the Sick.
