Monday night we officially celebrated the grand opening of Clarity Surgical Group, my new private practice. ✨

This has been a dream of mine for some time, and being able to share it with family, friends, patients, and fellow healthcare providers made the evening truly unforgettable. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us, and to everyone who has been part of this journey. 💙

A special thank you to NMed Consulting - Natasha Moradzadeh. I’m so fortunate to have found you. Your guidance and expertise have been integral to getting the practice up and running, and I’m deeply grateful.

Thank you so much Dore Baker for planning such an amazing evening and to my office staff, Charisma, Jen M. and Jen J. And a grateful shout out to Intuitive for allowing us to showcase da Vinci 5 - giving everyone from 3 years old to over 80 the opportunity to see what robotic surgery is all about. 🤖

Here’s to this next chapter and to caring for our community with clarity, compassion, and excellence.

This week, Intuitive360 brought together more than 1,700 surgeons, hospital executives, and perioperative teams from across the country to focus on what matters most in modern healthcare: health equity, financial viability, and how cutting-edge technology and innovation make both possible.

I’m always honored to take part in these conversations and to share the stage with forward thinking surgeons and hospital system executives as we work together to solve these challenges. A particular highlight was advocating for patients’ access to minimally invasive care — both emergent and elective — alongside my former fellowship director, Dr. Mark Sawyer from Mayo Clinic as we shared our experiences with how da Vinci technology is transforming acute care surgery. It was equally rewarding to share the stage with Rachele Fastiggi Taylor, RN, BSN, PHN to speak about best practices from our own institution as we continue striving to provide exceptional care for our patients.

The future of surgery is incredibly exciting, and I look forward to what’s ahead.

Another great American Hernia Society meeting, with excellent talks from outgoing president Vedra Augenstein and incoming president JORGE DAES MD FACS along with so many others. Great sessions covering all things hernia — perioperative care, biomechanics, and a variety of techniques.
And of course, the best part was time spent with the hernia family from all over the world. We even had entertainment from our very own “Loss of Domain”!
Always an honor to be part of one of the best meetings of the year.

Another incredible meeting at the Society of Robotic Surgery | SRS
It’s so exciting to see how far the technology in our field continues to advance — the innovation on display this year was truly remarkable with robotic platforms from all over the world and humanoid robots showing off their dance skills.

Grateful for the chance to reconnect with great friends and colleagues from all over the world. Thank you to Eduardo Parra Davila for the invitation, and congrats on another successful SRS.

I was also honored to chair the session on Robotic Acute Care Surgery with my good friend Dr. Tanuja Damani and to present complex hernia repairs using da Vinci 5 during the Hernia and Abdominal Wall sessions. Always a privilege to share knowledge and learn alongside such talented surgeons.

Looking forward to the meeting next year!

Every year, the Women in daVinci Surgery meeting surpasses the last — and this year was no exception.

Nearly 200 women, leaders in surgery and hospital executive roles, came together to learn, grow, and push each other forward. I was honored to present again this year and share the stage with some of my incredible colleagues and friends.

We tackled conversations that matter: growing as leaders, leveraging vulnerability as a strength, knowing when to say Yes and when to say No, putting yourself out there, and always keeping our patients at the center of everything we do.

None of this happens without an incredible team behind it. Thank you to the Intuitive team who bring this meeting to life year after year. The waitlist alone speaks to how vital this gathering has become.

From early morning workouts to full days of powerful sessions — reconnecting with old friends and building new connections — this meeting fills me up in every way.

I’m heading home energized, inspired, and already counting down to next year.

Thank you to Intuitive for the continued investment in this community. It means more than words can say.

I had such an amazing time visiting multiple hospitals across Europe and helping to expand da vinci robotic surgery for the emergency surgery patients. It is so important to be able to offer equitable care for all patients and as we continue to grow this in the US it is great to see the hospitals in Denmark, Stockholm and Germany striving to do the same.

I had the honor to proctor surgeons at different hospitals and discuss the vast applications of robotics for acute care patients. Congrats to Dr. Michael Leitz for being able to successfully take care of an elderly patient with incarcerated femoral and spigelian hernias that would have otherwise been approached with open surgery.
Da Vinci surgery is truly transforming care for all patients and I am excited to be a part of it.
A special thanks to the European Intuitive team.

It was a true honor to join my European colleagues at the Intuitive 2026 Hernia and Colorectal Connect European conference in Copenhagen. Events like this are a wonderful reminder of how much we gain from one another — both in the affirmation of shared ideas and in the fresh perspectives that come from across the continent.

What strikes me most is the unwavering commitment we all share to delivering the highest quality care for our patients. The program was exceptional, with outstanding presentations covering hernia and abdominal wall reconstruction, colorectal surgery, and the clinical advantages of the da Vinci 5 and SP systems.

Beyond the science, it was a genuine pleasure to reconnect with old friends and welcome new ones. A heartfelt thank you to the organizing team for putting together such a remarkable event — I’m already looking forward to the next one.

Just getting back from another highly productive Intuitive Surgical Advisory Board meeting where we focused on how we can scale technology with daVinci 5 across our health systems to reduce variability and deliver consistently high-quality care for our patients.

I truly come back energized, excited and ready to expand our abilities to teach, collaborate and innovate. There are so many exciting things on the horizon and I am so honored to be a part of it.

I am grateful to partner with an organization aligned with what matters most to surgeons—safe, reproducible outcomes. David Hitesman, Julie Crawford Smith and Marcus Bland thank you for putting on yet another fantastic meeting. This is how we drive meaningful transformation in our field.
