PMOS, formerly known as PCOS, affects more than 170 million women worldwide.

Yet many still spend months or even years wondering why their cycles are unpredictable, why seemingly unrelated symptoms keep appearing, or why becoming pregnant is taking longer than expected.

Are you one of those people?

PMOS can affect hormone balance, metabolism, menstrual cycles, and ovulation. When you’re trying to grow your family, all of that uncertainty can be exhausting.

You shouldn’t have to minimize what you’re experiencing or keep pushing for someone to listen.

For PMOS Awareness Month this September, Fertility & Surgical Associates of California (FSAC) is joining PCOS Challenge: The National Polycystic O***y Syndrome Association to keep these conversations visible and help more people find clear information and compassionate support.

Each week, we’ll explore a different topic related to PMOS and fertility. Is there something you wish a fertility specialist would explain?

Leave your question below or send us a DM. It may inspire one of our upcoming posts!

As a First Fertility practice, FSAC is here to help you feel informed, heard, and supported. Whether you’re looking for clarity about your symptoms or guidance on your next family-building step, Drs. Amy Dhesi, Gary Hubert, Holly Mehr, and Mousa Shamonki are here to help you understand your options and decide what comes next.

One of our patients shares her story of hope, perseverance, and the journey that led her to her two boys. 💙

“It took me 6 long years of infertility with countless treatments, tears, breakdowns, spending Mother’s Days locked in my room, declining baby showers, etc. It was the hardest thing I ever went through in my life. I let go and decided to do IVF one more time, so I made an appointment with Dr. B. It was my last shot, and I got pregnant with my first son, then less than 2 years later, with my second son. I owe Dr. B everything. He was so hopeful and positive. Miracles do happen. I am forever grateful to Dr. B and Fertility & Surgical Associates. This process is hard enough, so having a clinic treat you with love and grace made all the difference.

My boys are almost 5, and the oldest just turned 7.”

We are so grateful to have been a part of this family’s journey and honored to share their beautiful story. Every fertility journey is unique, and we are here to provide hope, compassion, and support every step of the way. 🙏❤️

If you feel comfortable sharing, we’d love to celebrate your success story, too! Feel free to share a photo (or photos) of your little miracle(s) with us in the comments below. ✨

We love getting to see our FSAC babies through the years!🥰

Stephanie recently shared this picture with us and this update:

Getting to be a part of your family's story is what makes our work worthwhile!

A rainbow does not mean the storm never happened. It represents the hope and love that came afterward. 🌈

On National Rainbow Baby Day, Fertility & Surgical Associates of California celebrates the babies born after pregnancy or infant loss and recognizes everything their families experienced before their arrival.

We are also holding space for those who are still waiting for their rainbow. Whether you are trying again, facing another setback, or deciding what comes next, we hope you feel seen today too.

Loss can continue to affect future pregnancies, appointments, milestones, and even life after a baby arrives. There is no deadline for grief and no “right” way to process it.

If today feels heavier than expected, consider talking with a trusted friend, therapist, or find a virtual support group like the ones at RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association or AllPaths Family Building.

Their dedicated pregnancy loss support groups provide a safe community of people who understand.

Wherever you are on your path to family, our team at FSAC is here to support you and celebrate alongside you.

August is Grief Awareness Month. 🤍

For fertility patients, grief can take many forms—a negative pregnancy test, pregnancy loss, an unsuccessful treatment cycle, or grieving the journey you thought you would have.

These emotions are real, and they can exist alongside hope.✨

This month, we honor the feelings that often go unseen and remind you that you are not alone. At FSAC, we see you, support you, and are here for you. 🙏🏼❤️
